What's the world coming to when government bureaucrats do their job this quickly??

>snip

She was curt but polite and helpful.

The women I spoke to was ever so nice, she verified that our file had been sent to the embassy, and then asked me if we were still having a heat wave here in California, we actually spent about 3-5 minutes talking about the weather, then we wished each other a happy July 4th and ended the call. I'd been calling since our forms left USCIS beginning around June 21st and I spoke to maybe 6 different people, 2 of them were very friendly and the rest, they were all business.

Here is some FYI for those waiting at NVC. I also was a VSC to TSC transfer. No NOA2 yet, but close. I went ahead last week and sent my financials, W2, bank statements, Stock accounts, personal info to my Fiance..She lives in Ukraine. Today she got my packet. Guess what??? It had been opened by someone in customs or post office. Anyway now I am exposed to identity thieft. Looks like next week will be spent doing damage control. I suggest you scan these documents concerning financials and email to your significant other.

That sucks. :( Yeah, I will be avoiding the mail for that - the mail in the Philippines is horrible anyways. Thankfully I will be bringing it all to her in person when I fly out there in October and/or November, as I am planning on being there for the interview and we will schedule it for either of those two trips. Your idea of scanning is good too, but I wonder if they require originals, especially for the employer letter. Others may be able to chime in on that. It might be embassy specific too.

You could mail letter from employer, but email copies of W2, tax returns, check stubs, bank statements etc.

That is actually a very good idea. Sorry you had to find out the hard way, but maybe this will help others.

Luckily, I had a trip scheduled later this month, so it works out perfect for me to be able to hand deliver the documents, but If I was mailing them I'd definitely heed this advice.....only send things that need an original signature. Anything else, scan and let the beneficiary print them there.

Even for the letter from employer I think the only thing they require is that it be on company letterhead. A copy should probably pass, especially if you have other financial stuff to show. There are no fixed requirements as to what they need to prove financials, just as long as you get a few different types of things there it should be fine.

yikes - sorry that happened to you. :(

I mailed my fiance my I-134 - a few signed copies last week but I had scanned and emailed my 1099s, W2s, 1040s and last three pay stubs. I've seen people mention an employer letter here before but my lawyer said it wasn't necessary so I didn't send one of those...once we are getting closer and my fiance has his interview scheduled, I will scan/email the most recent pay stubs as well to show I'm still working there with that salary/bonus.

I hope you are able to get it all sorted out with no damage to your credit. :(

I mailed all our stuff Monday and its out for delivery now in Manila. I shipped to a friends house since she doesn't have a mailable address in Davao. I sent with UPS, cost $97. I hope nothing happens to it. I sent everything. Tax records, Pay stubs, I-134, 2 picture books I made with iPhoto, original NOA2, etc.

I'm not even sure it went though customs. The UPS tracker didn't have customs in one of the steps. I think she will go next week and do her CFO and get that package from our friend in Makati. I wanted her to do CFO and medical on the same trip, but since TSC is taking their sweet ### time mailing to NVC I don't see that happening next week at this point. It's really screwing up our timeline of her getting here in July.

Yeah, I think you will have to push that July date. I hear it is hard to find interview appointments within a month in Philly, let alone the fact you are still waiting for your number so you can schedule one.

thank you for sharing this Dustin. I told my fiance what just happened to our fellow VJers and told me he would pay some extra just to send the packet safely. I would note that UPS charge... You included the original NOA2 in your packet? ;)

I just did my CFO seminar yesterday and everything went fine. I hope NVC would be sending out our case numbers next week ;) hoping to leave the country on Sept. ;/

Now I have a question:

WHAT am I supposed to now? There's so much information around here, I don't know where to start. People talking about shortcuts, downloading forms, etc. I've collected new "evidence" of our ongoing relationship (chat logs, pictures, plane tickets etc. from our trip to Beijing in May), should I be compiling all this and snail mailing it to her?

I suggest you to check out this website: Just click on China, English link on the home page. http://www.ustraveldocs.com/

You (your fiancée) will be going through this site for arranging the interview date, etc. You can research all the info on here. I found a link someplace on it that gives a PDF of exactly the K1 instruction that the Guangzhou consulate will be sending in packet 3. I downloaded all the forms and started filling them out already with my fiancée (in draft form, not official) so that all the info will be determined by the time we get our packet 3. There is a lot of other interesting info as well - such as "Bring five passport photos to the medical exam". Start your research and preparation early! Maybe we'll see you in GZ! We had TSC NOA2 on June 26.

My friend in Makati got the package with no problems last night. I think it is fine if you sent with UPS or maybe FedEx to Philippines just not with the PhilPost/USPS. I didn't declare a value and put the description as financial documents. I'm not sure that original NOA2 is needed but I sent just in case. I made a copy for me.

Glad to here your CFO went good. She will go next week if her parents get their new postal IDs before the end of the week. And I included a copy of my tax return with th social redacted for CFO in case they need proof I'm single. I read that in one thread that they asked for that before. I think we have everything that has ever been ask for by the CFO.
