Scheduling interview after NOA2

Hello,

I got the NOA2 on 06/14 and my case should be either on the way or in NVC. From what I've read I should be calling them to find out the case number. The question is: once I have the number do I schedule the interview or does NVC do it? Or is that country specific? If NVC does it then the case number is necessary for checking the status only? Thanks!

Majority of K1 visa chasers schedule their own interviews as far as I can see and you need that case number (which is also your DOS number) to book the interview.

Ah yes, the next round of bureaucratic paper shuffling….For K-1s, the NVC does some Department of State (DOS) -requisite file processing, including assigning a case file number. The DOS does not utilize the USCIS petition receipt number (NOA1), necessitating the need for the petitioner to get the DOS case file number from NVC. The method of setting appointment is somewhat country-specific, the interviewing embassy/consulate information should be consulted for particular details.
