I want my mom to visit me but I have so many questions???

On the U.S. Embassy's website they require an invitation from me to the person that I want to visit me (my mom). It makes sence to me that I should say that I'm willing to cover all her expenses while she is here (a couple weeks) and she will stay in my house. She should have a dublicate of my birth certificate so she can prove that I'm her daughter. Should I send with the invitation papers that prove that I'm employed and have a house etc? I doesn't say on their site. It also doesn't say if I should sign invitation and mail or email it or should I notarize it? I really don't know where to start and it makes me angry that in the country that predends to be so "free" I have to go thru so much trouble to just have my own mother visit me. Even prisone'rs have that right and I pay taxes, volontier etc...

Anyway, an example invitation would also help a lot!

You need to check out this website for the requirements of obtaining a tourist visa from Bulgaria. The invitation letter is optional. Your Mother needs to prove strong ties to her home country so the IO will think she wants to return. You are dealing with the US government where people before have abused the system so every Consulate/Embassy now believes everyone applying for a tourist visa is a potential immigrant. It is up to the applicant to PROVE that they will return to their home country. Having her daughter in the US can hurt her chances of obtaining a tourist visa. There is nothing you can do to help her get the tourist visa. She must qualify on her own. If she is denied, she wil be out the visa application fee, but she can apply again. My wife was denied her first time when she applied for a tourist visa. She went back 2 weeks later with the same evidence. This time she was approved. The difference was the IO.

She needs photos of you and her over the years, lots of them.

She needs your birth certificate too, photocopy of your passport data page,

an invitation letter from you, tax returns, evidence of accommodation which could be your rent receipt, telephone bills, etc

Thank you so much guys! I'm not renting and why would she need lots of pictures of us? We aren't much of a picture takeing family but she should have a couple... I had just one picture of me and my husband for the k1 interview and it wasn't a problem... Depends on the consulate and the IO I guess...

An invitation letter is not required. It's optional.

Read up on invitation letters. They can be used to support a visa application, but the applicants must qualify according to their circumstances; not based on any assurance from a US resident.

Pictures and your birth certificate are not necessary. They are of no value in an visitor visa application. (Don't confuse the rules for a spousal immigrant visa with a visitor visa.)

You do not need to notarized the letter because the US Embassy doesn't care if it is notarized or not. You could just send an e-mail without a signature.

This is the land of the free. Which other country has welcome as many immigrants as the US? None. The US takes in more people than any other country.

You pay taxes, etc. you are free to leavr and enter the US.

Your mother does not pay taxes. She contributes nothing to this country. She is a foreign national. Foreigners do not have the right to enter the US.

Comparing a prisoner's rights to you or your mother is ludicrous. How is your mother a prisoner? What rights of hers or yours is the US violating in asking that she applies for a visitor visa and show she will not try to illegally immigrate to the US?

Do you know how many people with visitor visas abuse them so they can illegally immigrate to the US and be harbored by their US families? Look through this forum and you will find a bunch of visitor visa abusers.

If you think the US is separating you from your mother, then you should never immigrated here. You choose to leave her and immigrate to the US. The rules for visitor visas were established long before you got here. The rules have not changed. So how is it unfair when you choose to leave and the rules about visitor visas were well established?

The US is not stopping you from going to see your mother. The only thing the US wants is for your mother to file a visitor visa applicationand show she can overcome the presumption of illegal immigration.

you have freedom such as you can express yourself without being punished, you can practice any religion or not religion etc.

Inviting your family is not a right.

Each visitor has to demonstrate they would return home after the visit before they will be issued visa.

Same i would say no Birth certificate, no pictures are required for visitor visa, if you want you can write a letter and prob attach your bank statement but it does not guranteed the visa.

Unfortunately ppl in past have abused / cheated the system and for which all of us have to pay now.

So if you wanna direct your anger, you need to direct to ppl who have abused the system, stop supporting any organization which supports illegal immigration, stop supporting ppl who are supporting illegal immigrants.

Support the laws that would not let illegals to stay in the country etc.

your family can come visit you.. with a visa.. it is up to them to provide ties to their country.. if they are not able to do that, then it is actually your own family that handcuffed you
