So I am going to be filing my wife's visa. I looked at the processing times and I am already depressed. VSC is 249, CSC is 234 and TSC is 150ish.

Can i have my papers sent to TSC so they process quicker? Is there any way to expedite the processing? This is going to be a nightmare year :(

Filing for a spouse Visa weren't you prepared for an 8 to 12 month wait? I heard Visa's going to VSC are being sent to TSC anyway. People with much more knowledge than me will comment on this I'm sure. I agree the wait is gonna suck! I will be doing same thing soon.

You can read USCIS' expedite criteria here: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=16a6b1be1ce85210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD but you should bear in mind that "expedite" means "taking someone else's position ahead of you in the queue for yourself", so you must have a very good reason for doing so. Thousands of other people are in a similar situation.

Hi! the USCIS will be the one to decide where they will send ur application for processing... it depends on where do you live. You can request for expidite but they have a criteria... but basically, alot of waiting is really involved in this visa processing... :(

better to start now! :)

I'm afraid it does just generally take that long. Expedites are hard to come by, as the reasons for having one are quite restricted and relatively severe.

I wouldn't wish your case to go to one particular processing centre over another anyway - they swap over all the time in which is moving the fastest. As an example, last year CSC was processing I-129f (for K1) ahead of VCS by quite some amount, so everyone wished their cases to go to CSC - then CSC suddenly stopped processing I-129f for *months* under the weight of dream act applications. Folks ended up waiting 10 months+ instead of the 5 months that was the reported average at the time of their filing. The landscape of processing times changes abruptly and unpredictably.

Your case will likely be routed to one of VCS or CSC depending on the state you reside in when you apply. You should just buckle up for the average wait time and hope for the best.

Indeed! Ours had been forwarded to Hawaii local office, where my husband resides, from National Benefits Center. Our priority date was Jan 28th and counting since then, it's already 5 months past and hadnt got any result yet. What's quite frustrating around here was the fact that there are filers who applied later than we do and surprisingly gotten the approval already. Is this how the immigration process move around here?

Just being inquisitive!

All's welcome for comments.

spousal visa?

since 15 AUG 2012 - all stand-alone I-130s have been routed as follows:

lockbox->National Benefits Center (MSC) -> local office for adjudictation.

you might want to study the MSC stats, instead, at

eh - he doesn't have a timeline to do, yet, as he's just 'about to file' and he was studying the timelines (somewhere) and got depressed.

So, nothing to note or track on his casefile, he's not filed yet.

relax la

Thanks for all your responses.

I am coming fresh off a k1 visa rejection in March following which I got married on June 2nnd. I was aware of the spouse visa delays and hence I had done the K1. I am 41 now and my wife is 35. I can think of so many reasons to expedite but I am sure they will not mean anything to the USCIS.

Unless the USC has some major surgery coming up, highly doubt they would expedite.

Like Darnell said, "what spouse visa delays?"

Quoting because I was surprised no one had mentioned this yet....

Spousal visas right now only take longer if your local office is SLOOOOW.
