Hi Everyone!

I just got approved of permanent residence, I am just waiting for the card get here. I originally submitted my AOS I485 packet together with my daughters application too, mine successfully went though but we got an RFE for my daughters application. So we then submitted the document needed and she's got her EAD/Advance Parole combo card now, We received an interview appointment notice for her few days ago , My question is , is it really necessary? I mean my daughter is only 5 years old. yes. a little kid. What are they going to interview us/her for? Anyone had the same experience? My husband is thinking it would be a waste of a trip to go there because shes just a kid and they'll be like , oh go home we dont need to interview her , something like that lol but I'm like, "lets just do whatever they want us to do" well i just want to know if anybody had the same experience. Thank you Guys!!

If you don't attend your daughter's scheduled interview for her I-485 then it will be automatically denied and she won't receive her green card.

It would be insanity not to attend.

Welcome to the forum.

Agree with previous responses. You would do well not to treat their actions and requests lightly. It is never safe to try to assume what USCIS is thinking, it is prudent to follow their instructions regarding your daughter's AOS interview appointment and attend it. She will need to have a I-551 Green Card in order to continue to reside in the US.

From our experience at the USCIS office in Tukwila, there seems to be an increased scrutiny at USCIS about international child trafficking. At my stepson's AOS interview, several of the questions were obviously aimed at determining if that was a factor in his AOS immigration application. The burden of proof was for us to prove to the IO that his immigration process was legitimate.

Good luck.
