No, just an advice letter. Consent is 18 - 21, advice is 21 - 25.

You will be fine.

i know i will be fine dealing with CFO's _____. but my affidavits were all notarized already. laughing.gif so no way i would leave my parental consent at home and go home if asked.. see my point here is to be prepared for whatever CFO will ask.. I know a consent is no longer needed for a 24 y.o. even if CFO will read the Family Code of the PH.

at my age now, i still get a lot of comments about how i look like a minor! I wonder when people would say i don't look like a minor anymore. If a lawyer scrutinized me bec of how i look, what more with CFO.. again, CFO asked whatever they want..whenever they "feel" it. and i still fall under their "trap" when it comes to age bet. 18-25. and in the past, they had asked some applicants to present a consent and advice at the same time.not to mention, a sworn statement for those ages bet 18-21 that they will be going to USA and to marry their fiance. it's a case to case basis though..and with my case, i know in their eyes i still fall under the 18-21 age.. :D (without even talking to me yet and seeing my docs. so i know what would be their first impression towards me. It's given..).. well i'm hoping they won't ask a lot of documents (esp when they see i have a lot) I would be glad if they will be nice to all of us during the seminar. If things becomes worst, i also know what to do.. but i hope NOT! I will be posting my review soon!

if u have a copy of your parent's death certificate, i think it is also a better idea to bring it at CFO... to show to them that you are telling the truth that ur parents are not around anymore.. along with ur notarized advice form from ur guardian.

Another case i had read here where the ex wife of the fiance died already.. and guess what? the CFO asked for the death certificate of the ex wife.. I can't find the thread but I had read it here on VJ.. (it was actually on this post http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/433264-cfo-seminar-in-manila-may-30-2013/)

Salamat and good luck too! smile.png

just had my CFO today too. everything turned out well. i guess just be ready with all your documents especially cases that involve previous marriages and be mindful enough in filling out your form. the counselor is very meticulous when it comes to the completeness of the information you'll be providing. i am just thankful that today wasn't really a PAIN even though i was there really early to secure for a spot.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i saw a couple of posts on this topic about parental consent/advice on this thread, i just want to share my case that i needed it when i was applying for marriage license since i was getting married without the presence of my parents even though i was at the right age when i got married.

My Fiancee returned today to the CFO with her parents ID and photocopies of the ID (front and back) and also she brought a lot of confidence as she got approved at the embassy yesterday! And they gave her the certificate!!!! Looks like I was panicking for no reason, they did interview her again but she was strong and brave and it paid off. I think attitude is important at the CFO maybe some will give their opinions on this but I think you need to be confident and don't let them rattle you. If they see weakness they going to get you. I might be wrong about this so please leave your opinions to help others and correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks for listening to my rant in the OP and try to understand I was angry when I wrote it but for future reference their is other ways out of the country other than a flight from Manila and Cebu. Lot of boats and airplanes for hire in PH but glad we were able to do things the correct way.

Thanks again for your encouragement.
