Hi,

I married my USC wife and I am adjusting my status from F1 to permanent resident.

As I am getting the forms ready, I am reading cover letters people posted. I noticed that a lot of people here in the forum attach a copy of the beneficiary's birth certificate and a copy of the beneficiary's passport bio page to their I-130. Nowhere does it say in the instructions that those copies are needed.

Similar case for the I-485. A lot of people put a copy of the beneficiary's passport bio page. It doesn't say in the instructions that that is needed.

Did I skip something in the instructions?

For the I-485, it is not required to include a copy of the biographical page, but it doesn't hurt to add it to your package. It's just an easy photocopy. Sometimes, including more documents is a good idea.

I suppose it's the same for the I-130.
