Having managed alarge group of working poor with kids. Spreading out the breaks wrecks havoc with day care planning.

My district does it. People adjust, just as they would have to if the district switched back to an 11 week break or instituted a Tuesday minimum day instead of a Thursday minimum day.

It's way too hot in the summertime in Nature Boy's (pbuh) neck of the world, electricity for AC during the summer is a budgetary constraint that your school district doesn't enjoy.

My point is that it isn't oppression. My district does it, and, yes, it is primarily of a poor working class demographic. They would be saying the same thing as you just did if the district proposed an 11 week break at this time instead of the 3 week one currently in place. It would affect their work schedule and daycare provisions for sure.

Know what. All BS aside, we did not have AC in school back in the 70's. It was wicked hot in the class room Sep, Oct, and April, May. You are probably right.

The little candy arses all have AC and hot meals now.. Pussification of America is in full swing.
