Employment letter for Army

Hello everyone,

My husband ( US army ) just started his work as a biomed technician in a hospital. He is still under contract with the army until 2016. Does he need to provide Employment letter in AOS packet? He said the government is the one paying him. So, if he provides an employment letter what does it look like? and who will be his employer?

I'm not sure about AOS but for my visa interview we didn't have one. Just go to mypay and print out the page where they can see when he enlisted, until when he will be with the army, his rank, pay grade etc.

If he needs any kind of letter it would most likely be from his commander. He should ask his S-1 as they would probably be able to provide a quicker answer.

Thanks to all your responses. I guess husband will just call and ask USCIS on this matter. But I am thinking a lot of members here have Military spouses and was hoping they have same case as mine..

To be honest supplying his tax transcripts/returns should be enough along with some pay stubs. My husband didn't include an employment letter because his boss isn't his employer. (He works for the FAA which is part of the Department of Transportation) An employment letter is optional and not a requirement for the AOS.
