Here is a crazy question which I hope someone can answer. Thinking about the DCF route can we use my wifes boss as the sponsor for the 864? His income is substantial. Although the problem as I see it is that all of his income is made in The Philippines.

Just a thought.

Sponsors must be a US citizen or legal Permanent Resident working and domiciled in US.

^Definitely true. The point of the I-864 is to make sure your SO doesn't become a public charge in the United States. How will the US get money from her boss in the Philippines?

This is pretty much what I thought. Thought it was worth a try though since I am in the Philippines now. Oh well back to CR1 for us.

Yes I understand that. Thanks. I know she won't become a public charge. She knows she won't but the Government doesn't know me or her from a hole in the ground.

You do realize you have to file the I-864 either way, right? If you live legally in the Philippines and find a sponsor in the US you can do DCF. If you decide to do the cr-1 route you're going to have to find a cosponsor anyways (assuming you need one because of your original post).

Yes about the I-864. Also my income will be good enough in US for the petition. I am here just visiting my soon to be wife and about to get married. Was only looking at the DCF since it takes such a short time.

Okay, now I understand. I don't think you would even qualify for DCF because you don't live there. You have to be living there with proof for 6 months+ (at least that's how it is in the Dominican Republic...) Sounds like it's a better option for you to stick with filing in the US in my opinion! Good luck.
