Hi everyone. I just wondered something. Will the consulate expedite an interview if the wife waiting in the U.S. is pregnant? I will be surprised if any of you tell me yes but I just wondered. I know that you can file a request to expedite with CIS but I didn't know about for the interview. What do you think? Have any of you done this and did you have any luck? Thanks

03/30/2006 sent petition I-130 to VSC

04/13/2006 received NOA1 petition I-130

05/01/2006 "touched"

07/06/2006 "touched"

07/06/2006 received notification that case transferred to Calif. SC

07/07/2006 faxed request to expedite to CSC

07/08/2006 "touched"

07/10/2006 "touched" with notice that CSC has received petition

07/11/2006 "touched"

07/12/2006 "touched" Does this mean we are getting somewhere?

07/14/2006 "touched"

08/03/2006 "touched" I hope this is good?! Please approve us!

08/04/2006 APPROVED!!!!!! We are soooooo happy!

works on it before it leaves to go to NVC.

08/23/2006 US postal service says agent form rec'd at NVC

Each consulate is different as to local procedure but my inclination would be :no:

It may sound harsh, but a pregnancy is only proof that she is pregnant. There is no proof who the father is. It is not proof of the relationship. It helps in no way whatsever in the process.

8 April 2009 Biometric notice arrived by mail

24 April 2009 Biometrics scheduled

26 April 2009 Touched

...once again waiting

1 September 2009 (just over 5 months) Approved and card production ordered.

Ah yes...I see what you mean. Sucks for those that have difficult issues with pregnancy and no one else but I sure there would be people to abuse that. Thanks for the input.

Answer is NO.

Example:

I am pregnant and would like to travel as soon as possible. Can the Consulate expedite my application?

Due to the large number of cases backlogged we cannot expedite based on the pregnancy of the applicant, but will schedule to avoid travel around the time of birth. We have not heard of any problems arising from possible violation of China's one child policy from previous pending immigrants.
