No suit is needed , the CO wont even notice that unless one is really unkempt

nice casual, good slack, decent top & fresh looking/smelling is all that's needed

One does not need to appear as if they are going to a job interview , and relax,

its not a dental visit for root canal.

I'm sure stressing out as if it's a dental visit!

I must have looked through my folder 100 times already checking that everything is there..

Monday is so close but so far away at the same time..

I'm sure you have absolutely nothing to worry about. A genuine relationship, with the necessary documents in order, is going to sail through London.

(I say that, but I know when it comes to my interview, I'll be a bag of nerves too.) But really, just relax. You'll be fine.

Hey now guys you have no idea how my black hoodie looks! :P It's not a big baggy hoodie. It's a zip up one that's close fit. It's more appropriately a close fit jacket with hood attached. lol It was windy that morning in Montreal! :P I was neat, clean and tidy.

But yes this is a consulate specific decision on what to wear. :D Don't be sloppy. Don't be naked. But in general I think it's not necessary to dress up in a suit or anything beyond business casual.

I n London you only need to wear a nice top and brush your hair as the interviewer only sees you from the chest up because it's like standing at a bank teller's window.

It was -14 when I had my interview in MTL. There was no way I was going to dress up in that kind of weather. I had on bulky winter clothes and boots. I'm pretty sure I looked like an eskimo. Casual is fine.

Wear your best clothes you own. Show respect for embassy personnel. And dress like you know what you are doing is important. You're susposed to stand out.

There's no reason to stand out. It's not a beauty pageant.

London is extremely casual, comparatively. Other embassies will vary - I'm sure in China it's a lot more strict.

As Nich-Nick points out, in London they don't even see you above the waist - the "interview" is more like a casual chat and document check. The OP enquired about what to wear in London, and the responses that are accurate here are meant to reassure her that what she wears to her interview should not be cause for stress. This process has enough stress without worrying if you're dressed right for an embassy that doesn't actually care.

Just going to wear a nice top with some jeans.
What's in my folder is definitely more important than what I'm wearing.
Thanks for all your advice guys, I feel well prepared for tomorrow- Visa Journey has been a godsend!
