Hi there

I recently married in Tokyo on Sept 16th 2006, went to the embassy and recieved the "konin-yoken-gubi-shomeshou"

My wife then submitted the "konin todoke" at her local Ward Office and recieved the "Konin Jyuri Shoumeshou" (official marriage certificate)

I returned to the US for work and now we are working on getting the whole I-130 package together.

My Question: Do I need to return to Japan at all or can she appear for any/all appointments at the embassy by herself?

thanks for your input

Congratulations on your recent marriage!

If you want to file the I-130 in Tokyo, you must be there in person.

If you'd rather not return, you file the I-130 to the Service Center of your US addressl.

Thanks so much!

I'll be heading over there anyway for the birth of our first child, I'll just go a little earlier to make sure I get the I-130 submission out of the way.

Now, if we could just settle on baby names, all would be smooth sailing........ thinking Honoka if it's a girl and either Ken/ Kent/ or Minoru if it's a boy...........

anyone have a baby name suggestion? Japanese or English is okay.........!!!

thanks again

Neal
