Hello,

I am very new to this website and I feel so fortunate to have found it. I have yet to mail my I-129...hopefully this week. I was reading about the this income requirement or proof of support. Is there a minimum requirement? Does it differ if it is a female applying for a male? I will continue researching but I thought this would be a good resource. Thanks in advance.

Ahhhh....I think I found the answer by browsing some more. If you meet the poverty line then your all good. Right?

Great resource.

Income requirement will come into play when visa intervew is performed at the consulate.

You need to show that you can support your fiance when they arrive in the states, using a form called the I-134 Affidavit of support, and showing income evidence, using a letter from employer, pay stubs, and IRS return data.

Typically your income needs to be above 125% of poverty line, counting you, any dependents, and your fiance.

See:
