Wait for it. There is going to be a story where a 10 round limit was proposed and then someone's home had been invaded by 11 people. Just wait for it. laughing.gif

If your home is being invaded by 11 people, you've got bigger problems than round limits ;)

I'll give you "based on how it looks" but how is limiting size of magazine NOT stronger gun control? It seems to be the very definition of it. Shooters can be stopped more easily when they are reloading; this is not conjecture, it's happened on many occasions. So even if they just bring more ammo, limiting the number of bullets they can use in one go is absolutely helpful to law enforcement and potential victims.

because magazines can be swapped out fairly fast. that's what they are designed to do, after all.

Conversely, can you think of many situations where being able to spray dozens of bullets without reloading would be necessary for your self-preservation?

zombie attacks! :hehe:

Not if you're a gun nut. If you're a gun nut, then all that requires are 11 rounds in your magazine. Trust me, they've made this very argument before. Think it was when NY state limited the capacity of magazines. One of them brain dead gun nuts came along with a story of a home invaded by multiple people and more than 7 rounds fired to defend the home. The story line was that with the restriction in magazine size, the person could not have defended his home from the invasion. Seriously. That's the argument.

Hahaha! Nice :)

You do have to be pretty damn good though to be able to switch out ammo so quickly that it doesn't give a big enough pause for a cop to take advantage. As I mentioned, there are well famous sprees which could have gone on for longer had that pause not happened. It just seems like a simple middle-ground measure that can help save lives in at least some cases (as evidenced) without impacting very much on normal people's rights.

Say, when did they take Jared Lochner down? Oh, that's right. He was subdued when he changed the magazine.

and i'm sure he probably didn't practice that much. practice can cut down the reload time to just a few seconds.

a cop doesn't need to wait for him to swap out mags - the cop can take him under fire with or without the perp swapping mags.

It wasn't cops that stopped Jared Lochner when he had to reload. It was civilians led by a 61 year old lady. That's how effective that forced interruption can be.

Had there been a limit on the magazine size, he could have been stopped sooner. Some of those that he managed to kill could still be alive. Maybe even that 9 year old girl that was among his victims. When no limits on magazine capacity are more important to you than the chance to save innocent lives, you should maybe revisit your value system. Just sayin'.

Funny thing is that people think anyone who simply wants stronger gun control is "anti-gun"

Funny if I wanted to take just some of your first or fourth amendment rights I wonder if you would see me as anti-free speech and pro-police state.
