how do U use the MJ with Ipad?

Magicjack is best ...purchase it and the service is free ...with US#s...there's one U use on computer

& another without computer,.... U can take MJ anywhere to use

The wonderful thing is that magicjack have an app ... so you can download it for free and have a new number for free or you can just signed in with you account and you can use it with your same number. smile.png

Skype to go is the best. Buy an unlimited subscription for calls to the US for about $6.00 for a month. Buy it under her skype account. Then in the options generate a local phillipines landline number for her to call you on , it will ring straight on your mobile, so no need for you to get a landline. She pays for a local call and you just the minutes you use on you mobile phone. You also don't need internet access for the call.

I use Skype to go calling from the US to the Philippines, but I did not think it is available for the Philippines to call the US. At least PI is not listed on the Skype site as a place you can subscribe. So how did you do it?

We just used Skype and Facetime for a while.

But recently I got Vonage since she has a Globe SIM in her iPhone. I have the Vonage app on my iPhone, so I can call her anytime. We have issues time to time, but I think it is because low signal for her.

We use Google Voice, no special phone plans, they charge .11/min to call a landline and .15 to call a cell phone. No monthly fees just the minute charges. Use our house phone or our cell phone.

https://www.google.com/voice/rates

I'm using Google voice right now. It was the easiest to get started, Ill find a long term alternative when I have time.

Thanks Hank

I'll chime in on the Globe Duo. Been using it for about 9 months now. Unlimited calling from US to a globe cell number. We have talked hours a day for months now and can't imagine anything better under the circumstances. She can be anywhere (no internet needed for her) as long as she has her cell phone and a globe signal. I use google talkatone since I have a stable internet connection and I don't use up my calling minutes for my cell service.

Another recommendation here for Viber. My girl is in Japan still and me in the US. Viber is a great APP, for texting as well as calling. Quality is very good. And the APP is free. And of course Skype too. We use that once a week or so.

Good luck

go with duo internation..

Vonage sucks there unlimited is not really unlimited if you call up and ask them.. they will cut your service off if you use more than 2500 min a month.

We've used this plan for over a year when Mike was still in the Philippines. $25 for unlimited calls, could only make calls to Globe numbers though

http://duointernational.globe.com.ph/

It also works on TM... :).

I have been using directo.ph but this duo option sounds really good too because then I can call her globe cell.

She currently has a PLDT sim in an old school nokia for talking with me.

Does the $25 include all taxes fees etc. Do you need a special sim or the sim they have is fine as long as its a globe#?

Nope, you don't need anything other than a Globe number. $25 is for all fees, unlimited calls. They assigned a US number attached to her Globe number. We got a California number, I'm guessing because I'm in Vegas.

Vonage, if you have internet, would be a sound bet. After the one month, you can keep the service and switch the plan options once your SO gets here. We still stay oh the Globe plan so we can call home to the Phils any time. We also got our daughter a Pay-as-you- go line there so we can call her for free and she us whenever she wishes to contact us. It's 5.99 mo. With vonage you have the option to call from cell phone here with an "add on" of which the first add on is free. Just a thought.

Best of luck,

Bob
