my wife(no kids yet) earns about 14000usd a year and her sister(not married without kids) earns about 20000usd can this earning fly at NVC? because I have heard of instances where NVC approves but the consulate denies based on the earnings on affidavit of support.

I need advice please

Your wife needs to make over 125 percent of the poverty level for your household (herself, you, and any kids or other dependents she claims on her taxes, plus any other immigrants she may have sponsored). Her sister needs to make over 125 percent of the poverty level for your household PLUS her own (you and your wife, your kids, herself, and her kids or other dependents, plus any other immigrants that she has sponsored).

NVC will give the petitioner and beneficiary 1 year per thing (IV and AOS) to get stuff in,

so that's up to 2 years to get things wrapped up at NVC.

Would an additional 2 years help the petitioner, at all, to increase her earnings?

It may pass NVC as the sister is just over the poverty level for her household + you, ie two people. I am not sure about at the embassy though, it is so close. Why does your wife earn so little? For example if she is a student that will graduate this year with good job prospects, you have better chances than if she has been earning so little for a long time with no prospects of it improving, for example if her income is from disability.

Okay this is Lagos what does her 2012 tax earnings look like? Because prior year is considered and many denied or put in AP because previous year didn't meet and current was shaky or too new.

That $20000 leaves what $540 over. A sickness anything can mess that all up.

It's shakey at best. All you can do is send it in and hope for the best. Unless you have someone with better income.

Well if the sister is all you have just go ahead and at least file your AOS package and get to Case Complete. Who knows the CO might be in a good mood. Since you nor sister have kids they might not be as strict depending on prior years and all. That is the big question 2012, 2011, 2010 what it looks like.

But tell your wife to go ahead and send in both I-864 packages.

Are you sure on her salary? Indeed.com salary review shows the average Nurse Technician in Denver, Colorado, makes $35'000.

Are you sure you aren't looking at how much she has earned so far this year?

You need to get her hourly wage X hours per week worked X 52 (weeks in the year) = annual salary

Unless she is salary.

Also like i asked before what does her 2012 earnings look like. If she was a student and no income thats one things but if she wasn't working or something that can be an issue.

Just food for thought. As i said all you can do is just send it all in and pray you get a real good CO that will be cool. With no kids in picture they might be more lenient. And I do think you are wrong on that amount.

is it allowed to use someone ur fiancee doesnot know as co sponsor

Yes the only requirement is co-sponsor has to be US citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident.

You or she do not need to know them many people have done that through Lagos that I know. No wahala.

The bolded part is wrong.

The co-sponsor needs only to earn enough to sponsor themselves and their household size plus the immigrant/s. They DO NOT need to earn enough to sponsor the primary sponsor and their household size. That would only be if they were combining incomes.

they both do not have anyone on their taxes.

do i still stand a chance

Does your co-sponsor have a spouse or any children (regardless of where they live) or do they have another active I-864? (you said no-one on taxes so that's good.

If your co-sponsor (your wife's sister so your sister-in-law) is only herself, then she earns enough for a household of 2 (you plus her) which is under $19K.

Also please follow how dwheels has explained how to figure out her YEARLY income.

take her hourly wage

x number of hours worked per week

x 52 weeks per year

= yearly income

Only if you thread-hijaak more than 4 times in each week.
