So just everyone knows, as of October 1st 2013. There have been some changes. First the DS-230 is no longer used, the DS-260 is now used and is filled out online. Second, Police Certificates have to be no older than 6 months upon arrival to the IVU. Third, the medical is now only valid for 6 months, along with the fact that your visa will expire as soon as your medical expires. IVU suggests that they will notify you when to get the medical exam done. That's all.

Looking at your signatures, it seems that Frankfurt often responds to the I-130 petition in less than two months. Since it has been longer than that for me (though still less than 90 days), I feel like I should email them this week to inquire about the status of the petition. Any advice on whether or not this is a good idea? How about tips on phrasing the email?

Thanks.

it also depends on the time of year on how fast they are working. if you notice that the people who filed in the spring time got a faster approval. just like me, you filed about the same time as i did. yet, i still dont have NOA2. just be patient, remember that its a privilege not a right. so they can take how ever long they want honestly. the NOA1 letter states that requesting for petition status will only delay the process.

Hi everybody!

I read that some of you used assets based abroad (in our case Germany and France, such as real estate and saving accounts). Does the embassy in Frankfurt accept such assets of the beneficiary based abroad ? (I heard it depends on the consulate..)

My husband's (USC) income will continue (in Euro) once in the US, so it should work without assets but if not, we hope that my assets will be accepted.

Thanks a lot for your help!

harrisonthai, I didn't get a letter exactly like that. However, I did just today get a notice of approval in the mail from Athens. They also checked the box saying that the petition has been forwarded to Frankfurt. Anyone have an idea what is going on here?

To make matters worse, following the steps at http://germany.usembassy.gov/visa/iv/step3/#frankfurt, I can't log on in order to fill out the DS-260, so I'm in a bit of a panic! The only thing I have for the invoice ID number is my or my spouses birth date, and the case number I got in the mail today had whiteout+handwriting for a couple of the numbers. I've tried every combination of case number (w/ or w/o hyphen, original or whiteout), birth date, and "I am the petitioner/principal applicant."

Anyone? Please help. Please.

Hi Wortu,

in our case: we first received an approval from Rome, saying that our petition had been forwarded to Frankfurt. 2 days later we received another approval letter from Frankfurt, saying that we now had to follow the next steps.

Are they asking you to follow the next steps now? If not, you have to wait for your approval from Frankfurt, I guess, which will surely arrive soon.

Maybe that's why you are not allowed to log in... You also can write an email to USCIS Frankfurt: it's what we did, when we became the approval from Rome and they answered quickly.

@wortu: I have had the same Problem just 2 weeks ago ! I tryed to fill out my DS-260 on October 6, and the Sign-In Site told me , that my Invoice ID dont fits the Case Number ... i tryed each possible way, also, ... On October 7 i wrote a Mail to the FRA Consulate and they told me " We know the Problem and we work on it" . Next day it was working !

My Question is now, because then i have finished my DS-260 , CEAC told me the form should be processed in 3-5 working days, ... what happenes then ? Can i pay the fee then ? And is this an 4 week waiting period until i get new Information about the next steps from the consulate ?

Im really affraid that i cant fly on the 10 of January to see my wife and my US Family, ... :-(

It's amazing how different embassies process. Philippines seems to be knocking out visas in 30-40 days and here are the European Embassies slacking! Ahh. I am about to submit my I-130 in Rome and I guess dreams of a merry christmas might have to wait. Well.. we can't complain. there is already a benefit to DCF.

Positive vibes that you all get positive responses soon.
