So I just read back through the entire thread to get a general timeline for when the medical results get sent to Frankfurt, the letter with the interview date gets sent, and the actual interview.

It looks like, judging by other people's posts, Frankfurt should have the medical results by the end of this week, and we should have an interview within 2 weeks. Does that sound right?

My husband's medical was on Friday, so I don't want to jump the gun and start bothering them yet. Maybe I'll have him call the doctor tomorrow to ask if the results were okay and if they've sent them yet..

I resided in Germany from July 2008-October 2013.

I have two stepsons who are staying in Germany.

Yeah 2 weeks sounds about right from creeping other peoples timelines. I've heard there were some incidences where you would have to call the doctor, to remind them to send it to the consulate. As some just merely forgot to forward the results to the consulate. Good luck!

OK... so I am starting the DS-230 now and the funny thing with the form is it doesn't say whose name goes where? I'm I utterly confused? I am assuming it is my husbands application info. Also with the medical, are you allowed to do it beforehand? At least maybe make sure the vaccines are up to date, etc.

Also, I saw mentioned in a few places that sometimes you have to submit DS-260 as well. Has anyone had that request from Frankfurt?

OK back to my paperwork.

Hi Skyla,

Form DS-230 is for the Beneficiary (the non-US citizen). In number 1 would be your husband's information. Your name will be on number 14.

As far as I know, the medical can be done any time after you send in form DS-230 to the consulate. We waited until after we sent in the additional paperwork which was requested at the same time as the DS-230.

You should be able to look at your husband's immunizations records to see if his shots are up to date. If they are, he needs to go to his general practitioner and get those BEFORE he goes to get his medical done.

I've seen people from other countries say that they were requested to fill out form DS-260, but I will not fill it out until the consulate specifically asks me to. I just don't personally want to waste any effort if it's not needed.

VV thanks again for breaking it down to me. It is the simplest things that seem the most confusing, like NAME, and I am like which name? LOL. We are currently looking for his impfung pass. We have all the info for the Munich doctor already. And so true about the DS-260, if they don't request, don't offer.

Did your husband have any other Visas before to the USA? My husband also currently has an O-1 Visa for the USA, used for business for artists, etc. I am assuming somewhere down the line we have to cancel that one and that there must be a specific form to do that. For a fee, of course.

My husband has gone to the USA (California) 3 times, all under the Visa Waiver Program, because he is German. I have no idea about that O-1 Visa, but I'm sure if you search the forums, you'll find some more information.

We received the letter in the mail today with my husband's interview date! We will be there next week, September 19 at 9:15 AM. We will definitely be driving to Frankfurt the night before and spending the night! YAY!

NOW: Any recommendations on cheap hotels/pensions somewhat close to the consulate? :D I'm searching on Google, as well.

Veronica, we also spent the night before of the interview in Frankfurt and stayed at the Star Inn Hotel Frankfurt Centrum. Is not luxurious but it's clean, safe and steps from Frankfurt Hbf. We paid 49 euros for the night. Next morning we took a tram to the Consulate and arrived in 15 minutes.

Thanks for the suggestion but we ended up booking a hotel just outside of Frankfurt. The prices go up to double at some places when there is a convention going on. Well, guess where there is a convention this week?! Yep, Frankfurt. So we have a hotel about a 30 minute drive from the consulate.
