Well, I can tell you a thing or two about that, haha! I also had to take the shots before getting the medical. I took three and it was fine. 2 had to be ordered though. It took like 2 days, haha!

On July 8th I went to get my medical in Dortmund. We called last Friday and they hadn't sent the results to the Embassy yet! After 2 weeks! They are nice, but it seems like a little disorganized. I was so frustrated, because that's actually the only thing we're missing to get an appointment date :( Anyways, they sent the package on Friday and yesterday the CEAC info box was updated. Hopefully that means they got my results and that I'm gonna get an appointment soon :)

And I'm sure they will send the results to the consulate. In the meantime, can you call and ask the doctor about it?

Yeah, I called on Monday and they said that they would send them that they. My CEAC report says the file was updated on Wednesday, so fingers crossed that will mean that the medical is there finally.

You might want to check with another doctor about the vaccines. There's a file from the embassy that specifies the vaccines you need depending on your age. I had them all but lost my card about 5 years ago, so I knew I had to take them all again. My doctor put me 3 shots in a 4 days time frame and then gave me my card. The doctor in Dortmund said it was all in order when he perform my examination.

15AUG2013 - NOA1 received

11OCT2013 - Return from Afghanistan dancin5hr.gif

21OCT2013 - RFE - Requested my boarding passes from the itinerary I provided. AHH!

The turn around time in Germany is pretty fast compared to other countries AS LONG AS you have all of your paperwork in order and send things back ASAP.

I'm curious: Where are you stationed in Germany (though I do realize you're in Afghanistan)? I have a lot of friends in the military, and we previously lived in Bamberg. I actually have a buddy in the Army based in Bamberg who just finished the DCF process for his wife and step-daughter. They began the process in April and got the approved visa earlier this month. They will be leaving at the end of August. And he is not deployed, so he did not get anything expedited.

Haha I am stationed in Bamberg too! Yeah our unit is deactivating in March so theyre giving us the boot in March. I am hoping we will have it done by then. We had sent in a petition 2 months ago but I had forgot to include my orders that I am residing in Germany haha. We're sending it back in tomorrow. Our packet three is all put together as well, (DS-230, police records, translations, etc.) Only thing we need is for her to update her immunization record, then medical. Now I have a couple of questions about the medical exam. How much is the fee? What if she doesnt have a medical record? or what do they necessarily mean by medical records. Also, where can she get a pregnancy statement?

Thanks!

ha! Funny. I'm trying to remember if I know anyone deployed from Bamberg right now. I think there are a couple members of the Bamberg Bears football team deployed. My husband used to play on the Bears, and still does when he gets the time off of work. (Though we live in Dresden and it's a 2.5 hour drive away.)

I can't give specific information about the medical, as we have not gotten that far yet. But there are a lot of other members on the forum that should be able to help.

For her immunizations, she needs to go to her general practitioner (hausarzt) and take her impfpass with her. The impfpass will say which, if any, immunizations she has and if she needs to get them again.

I'm not positive if the hausart or gynecologist (frauenarzt) issues the statement about not being pregnant, but since she has to go to the hausarzt, she might as well ask there. Again, I'm sure other members here will chime in with more suggestions and help.

Medial records are pretty much things like, if your wife has heart disease, hepatitis B, etc. They basically want to know that she is healthy.

Ah I see, I thought it needs to be done before the packet 3 is sent in? Now your husband is correct, my wife stated that it will take forever to get multiple shots. I really dont know why they practice this way (I got 9 shots in one day from my initial enlistment, for god sakes.) So I think shes going to ask the Bamberg health clinic to take care of that since shes enrolled in Tricare as well. So if she doesnt have any health issues, medical records arent needed?

BTW Dresden is a beautiful area, I stopped by on the way to Poland. Also I know a couple of cheerleaders from the bears haha

I don't think it really matters if you get your immunizations up to date before or after you send Packet 3 in. We haven't sent in Packet 3 because I'm waiting on the updated I-864A from my mother in the mail! She sent it priority mail, which costs $20 and is supposed to be 7-10 days, from California on the 15th. Still waiting for it...

My husband is supposed to be getting his shots on Monday, the 6th. Well, at least one of them. He said that for the MMR he gets one shot on Monday, and then has to go back a few weeks later for a second one. But because he will have a stamp in his impfpass stating that he has the first "half" of that shot, the official medical *should* be able to get done.

I would also suggest that your wife goes to the doctor on base because it'll be a lot faster than the way German doctor work (which is sometimes REALLY annoying).

I would also suggest that your wife goes to the doctor on base because it'll be a lot faster than the way German doctor work (which is sometimes REALLY annoying).

so the medical exam can be done after the packet 3 is sent? if so then once we get the notice to send it in then she can send it in, and then we can do the medical in october when i return. which should be the right timeframe of receiving NOA2. i think thats what ill have her do along with the pregnancy statement. yeah us mail to germany can take forever. hopefully it would arrive very soon. all this paperwork ####### is such a good way to start an argument, especially when i am deployed haha.

also does the petitioner need to include their original birth certificate in packet 3 as well? or is it only the beneficiary?
