Hello everybody!

One month ago we filed our petition in Frankfurt.
Now we are working on the package of documents
which we will need to send to the Embassy as soon as we get NOA2.

One of the documents we need to present is the police record from Germany.
I have already gotten this document and it is written there that nothing is registered on my name.
Maybe somebody could tell me whether I need to order certified translation for this paper or not,
and what was your experience with translations for other important documents?

28.10.2013 filed our petition at DCF Frankfurt

23.12.2013 walk-in medical examination in Frankfurt

15.01.2014 petition approved via e-mail. Asked the Embassy for my case number to be sent via e-mail

15.01.2014 got NOA2 in the mail(date of approval 13.01.2014)

16.01.2014 got case number via e-mail

16.01.2014 filled out DS-260 form

The instructions are clear if you read them very carefully:

You do NOT need to translate the police certificate IF it has no entries.

Thank you wortu!

I was also wondering, maybe somebody had the same problem with medical examination(vaccination record)as me and found solutions.

I have all the vaccinations required

but the proof of that- my vaccination passport- is not in English or German.

I thought I might be a problem when I come to the panel physician in Frankfurt/Munich,

because the doctor might not be able to read my vaccination records.

As a result the doctor might not be able to fill out vaccination part of the medical examination

and maybe not even know whether I need to get any shots which might be required by the embassy.

I contacted doctors in Munich an Frankfurt first last Friday, and their assistants were a little confused and could not give me a definite answer.

They said maybe I need to prepare official translation into English or German, but they were really not sure about that.

When I contacted doctors again yesterday, the office in Munich replied that the doctor wants to see official translation into English.

The answer from Frankfurt's office was that I should just come to them with all the documents I have at the moment, the doctor will do the examination part and if he needs translation or anything else I can send it later via e-mail.

When I asked them maybe I could e-mail them the vaccination record today

and they could look at it and say whether they can transfer information from the passport into the american form

or they need translation,

the answer was that the doctor can only look at it in person in his office.

I also talked on the phone to physicians in our town

and they said they probably could transfer vaccination from my passport into a German vaccination passport,

they would like to see it in person and I would have to pay for a visit(about 50 euro)

none of them asked for an official translation.

At the moment I am a little confused, on the one hand, I do not want to do extra work (like translations and physician visits) and pay for it.

On the other hand, i do not want to have delays with my visa just because of the medical examination

( which might be finished in Frankfurt after a couple of days after my visit.

Another scenario is I go to Frankfurt, pay them 160 euro or so, they can not finish my examination because they do not have enough information, ask for translation, which I will need to order, all that will add at least another 2 weeks to the processing of my medical examination.)

Thank you in advance for your ideas.

P.S. I was not required to do medical examination by the embassy yet,

60 days of our petition review will be Dec 28(or January 10 I suppose because of the Christmas vacation)

I just wanted to do medical examination in December while my husband is here and it would be cheaper and more convenient to drive to Frankfurt

I am not a DCF filer but an NVC expedite, so I have final steps similar to DCF. In the IV checklist (packet 3) it says that we do not need to include Prepaid DHL Label if the interview is after 13 Dec 2013. Do we need to carry stamps with us or provide envelope instead of Prepaid label?

Hi Everyone!

I looked at some people's timelines who filed in DCF Frankfurt and it looks like i-130 gets approved approximately for two monthes. My husband filed in person to Frankfurt on Nov 15, 2013, for me and my two children (his step-children). It's been two months and still nothing. I start worrying. I know it can take up to 90 days but out of being impatient, we did contact them via e-mail a month ago. They answered with 'your case is still being processed.' There was also an info sheet attached that probably they send to everyone who bugs them before time. It said about i-130 and usual time processing etc. So....we have been waiting ever since. For some reason I thought we would have heard from them some exciting news ;-)

We hoped that it takes 60 days to approve the petition too. Unfortunately when we contacted their office last week(we also filed in person on October 28th ) the answer was that our case is still being processed(((

Maybe it is taking them so long because of long Christmas vacations. Hopefully we all get our visas soon.
