Could someone please tell me what the covering letter accompanying the Notification of Applicant(s) Readiness, Form 2001 for the London embassy should say? I could not find an example on this website.

Also, on the DS-2001 it says I should submit it with DS-230 Part 1 but it does not mention this in the Instructions for Immigrant Visa (K) Applicants Applying for a Visa in London?

Send a cover letter with the DS-2001. Just write a formal-style letter that says when your medical is booked for, when your wedding is (if known) and an email address (optional). Include your full name and LND number. This is as per the instructions: http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

When you have obtained all of the required documents and are prepared for the visa interview, you are required to complete the Notification of Applicant(s) Readiness, Form 2001 and mail it to the Immigrant Visa Unit together with a covering letter containing your email address, if applicable, date of your wedding and date of the medical examination.

A formal letter would consist of something like this:

The address you're sending it to

Your address

Date of sending

Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing to inform you of my readiness to interview. I have collected all the required documents. My medical is on XXX, my wedding date is on XXX and my email address is XXX. Please also find enclosed my completed DS-2001 [and other documents you may be sending]. My case number is LNDXXX.

Yours faithfully,

Your signature

Your name
