HELP!!! N400 Part 9 Letter A and B Questions

Hello everyone,

I just have few questions about the form N400 in Part 9 Letter A. HOW MANY SONS AND DAUGHTERS HAVE YOU HAD?

Me and my usc husband has only ONE DAUGHTER but my husband has other 2 children who doesnt live with us but he supports them. Should i put their name in Part B or only our daughter??? I hope you can help me. Im a lil confused coz my friend didnt put the name of their stepkids since they dont live with them so i just wanna make sure that i am on the right track.

Should include stepson and stepdaughter on your application

ok but do i need to submit the court documents since my hubby is paying child support or no need to submit those? just put their name in the form.

Did you bother to read the instructions I gave you a link for? That is the official word from USCIS. It is a higher authority than what any stranger on the forum says or your friend.

Count all of your children, regardless of whether they are:

1. Alive, missing, or dead;

2. Born in other countries or in the United States;

3. Under 18 years old or adults;

4. Married or unmarried;

5. Living with you or elsewhere;

6. Stepsons or stepdaughters or legally adopted; or

7. Born when you were not married

I believe your friend was wrong based on #3 and #6. List your husband's kids by name. This question does not ask for documents to prove the children or who supports them.

You have to list all the children of your spouse, regardless of their age, nationality, location, whether they live with you or not. USCIS wants a record of their existence, and it's your duty to provide that to them. The application must be complete as possible. It's one thing if your husband did not know he had a child (and therefore couldn't declare it because he was honestly ignorant) and another to not write it down.
