Hi,

So my AOS application was received on the 10th. Two days later I got the electronic acceptances. Im still waiting for the written copy to come.

I checked our case online and something worries me!

My husband is the beneficiary and Im the USC.

So all of the documents ( I 130, I765 and I 131) are under "initial review"

all EXCEPT I 485- which is still in the stage of "acceptance".... does this mean we didnt fill that one out right and they denied it? Or is it "accepted" and okay because they accepted the biometrics fee?

It says:

On June 12, 2013, your fingerprint fee was accepted and we have mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. Your case is being processed at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During the acceptance step USCIS reviews newly received applications and petitions to ensure that they are properly filed (i.e. signed by the applicant, appropriate fees, etc.) USCIS issues a receipt number for the application or petition, and sends a receipt notice to the applicant or petitioner.

Applications and petitions that are not properly filed are rejected with an explanation of why the application is rejected and the corrective action needed. Rejected applications or petitions do not retain their filing date.

The acceptance step is typically completed within 2 business days of when the application is received. With mail time it may take several weeks for you to get the receipt or rejection notice in the mail. If you do not receive your notice within 30 days of mailing your application, please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Okay so all the other one's except the I 485 are under Initial review... should I be worried or is this normal??

But is this any indication of filling out the 485 wrong? Why hasnt it gone into initial review like the other documents?

This is normal.

The online system sucks. You can't read into it and think every tiny detail is a big deal. It's not. Whatever it says online is irrelevant. The online system is not directly linked to your case. It's going to sit on acceptance until it is approved. Trust the paper letters they send you.

Everyone should get a bio appointment letter within 30 days of their application being accepted. If it takes longer, you are supposed to call them.

What do you mean that what it says online is irrelevant? How is it not directly linked to the case?

Basically the online system isn't reliable. Many people have had no changes in their online case status while they continue to have movement in their cases and receive snail mail regarding their cases (i.e: NOAs). Just take the online stuff with a grain of salt, that's all. No changes online doesn't mean your case isn't moving.

It's similar to the text/email notification system they have. I received a text/email once; to confirm my receipt of my application. We haven't received anything further and our case has moved along quite nicely.....

04/01/2013 (day 0) - AOS packet sent via FedEx (I-130, I-485, I-765)

04/15/2013 (day 14) - Received NOA in mail, Biometrics appointment for 5/7/2013.
04/17/2013 (day 16) - Attempted walk in for biometrics = denied

05/07/2013 (day 36) - Biometrics appointment completed in Baltimore, MD

05/15/2013 (day 44) - I-485 updated to Testing & Interview! No changes for EAD or I-131.

05/23/2013 (day 52) - NOA for interview date and time received in mail

05/25/2013 (day 54) - NOA that our interview has been cancelled. No updates for EAD.
