yes by applying for citizenship you force them to approve the removal of conditions. It has been happening to a lot of people because they are so slow.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Certainly was motivation for us to apply for US citizenship, not only a copy of your expired green card, that one year extension notice, but even a copy of that I-551 in your current valid foreign passport book we had to drive 450 miles extra to get so my wife could still work and travel.

Wife finally received her ten year card, even asked at her oath ceremony if they could punch a hole in it to invalidate it from all the problems we had in getting that card. But after awhile, you cool down and finally realize you are finished with the USCIS.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
