...for 5 months I was there last year, I met 5 Filipinos in the church on different Sundays..and .1 working in JC Penney Mansfield..

.I personally love to go to yard/garage/estate auctions sales where I would buy books, jewelries, etc...then my fiancé would buy Sunday newspapers so I can cut coupons...and lastly good Internet connection so she can Skype, search online.

Hello Buckeye friends!!! OH............IO!!!! Hahaha. Welcome to the great state, and sometimes cold (January - March) OHIO. I hate it there in the Winter. I live in Dayton, Ohio. I will be bringing my lovely Fiancée Gina here from Cebu in April 2014, and she wants to meet new friends here to. Friends will help break the loneliness and "newness" of being here for the first time in the USA. I can only imagine how much of a culture shock it will be for her, and to get adjusted to. Ok, now the things I love about Cincinnati......mostly foods - Skyline Chili of course, Montomery Inn ribs, The Cincinnati Reds (NOT The bengals!!), Kings Island, WLW 700 radio, and great summer concerts! Welcome to Ohio, and look forward to possibly meeting any or all of you! God bless us all.

Just curious from where in Phils? My asawa has been here since April 07, from Leyte. We're in Troy, just north of Dayton.

If you haven't wandered out much yet, get over to Jungle Jims in Fairfield, bunches of Filipino packaged items, look around for other intereresting bits, rice is good buy there, we seem to need a 20-25 lb sack every month. There's also a large Asian market called CAM, north side, just east of I-75 and south of I-275.

There's a huge Filipino community in this region, Dayton has a Phil Am grioup. There's more stuff in Columbus, the big Asian Festival in every Memorial Day weekend. Didn't take too long for my asawa to spot other Filipinos, and that led to introductions and more party invitations than we could possibly keep up with. We've got two small kids now, so most parties are b-day, etc. Keeps us busy, busy, busy.

Get out and look around. You'll soon bump into a Filipina or two, then brace yourself for the whirlwind...
