Any idea how i can expedite this.

If you are actually in AP, there isn't anything you can do but wait. Have you asked them if you are in AP?

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Our case stuck in limbo at NVC. I haven't meet anyone who's K1 approved case stuck at NVC more than 1 month. Please, let me know if i'm the only one. Because this looks not good to me. We ve had to deal with all sorts of nonsense after NOA2.

It was already over the line, that USCIS lost our petition after NOA2 for 3 months, now this.

Yes, you have your case number, so that's a good thing. Call them up now and then, and make an inquiry as to how things are moving along. I know how frustrating it can be.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Ours is not even saying 'AP' or anything ....It just says 'AT NVC' and it's so nerve racking. We got approved by USCIS since Nov 1st.Called NVC last week and we got a case number though. Is that a good thing ?

I have been stuck there since Nov 15. The most frustrating part is calling and everyone acting clueless.

Honestly, I dont think anyone on this website truly has a clue whats going on. These are merely assumptions based off dated timelines people are refferencing. I believe that unless you are a special case, your file just sits. Come on, this is the American Govt., since when has anything here been efficient? NEVER. The reps at the NVC use the term AP simply because its a trump card, there is no way to dispute it or question them. Just think, if people were truly getting investigated like people on VJ think then why are all of the files basically leaving at the same times? It took exactly 21 days for 100 peoples backgrounds to come back. Hell no. The NVC is just like any other agency with no one to answer to, LAZY. They are sitting on our files, until there basically is no other reason to let them sit there. You can get a background check in minutes now a days, not weeks or months. Everything is done electronically, so postal mail can no longer be the excuse.

My case in SDOXXXXXXXXXX The X= digits

I changed some of the numbers for like 100 different combinations and I noticed that when the files were approved they were approved all the same day. In my case Nov 30 2016. And that was only like 6 out of the 100 i looked at. It would be almost impossible to push through a back log of applicants if your flagging 96% of them for some type of additional processing. I really apprieciate the input from this site, but in this case I think majority of people on here are incorrect. Odds are, the NVC is understaffed. They use the AP exuse simply so they do not have to answer to any of the applicants. They realize that everyone that is applying is walking on eggshells and nervious not to say the wrong thing for fear that we will be denied. I am not saying that I know what I am talking about like everyone else, but it seems as if the really fast approvals are coming from organized embassies. So add lazy government employees and unefficient embassies from 3rd world countries and you get what people are calling AP.

FYI: Yes I have too much time on my hands when it came to checking the different case numbers. And I am still waiting!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, but no.

At my interview, while the CO was flipping through the pages we had sent, she paused at one place. They weren't pages I had ever seen, writing on the right, large square boxes all down the left .And that is when she said. 'Oh, I see you were in AP for quite a while" I was on the point of asking her why, but before I could do that she said that it was something new that they were doing with K1's, that it was totally random.

I wouldn't call the NZ Consulate inefficient in the least, and if certainly isn't a third world country. In both of the STUCK at NVC threads, part 1 & 2, you will see filers from essentially all over the world. From countries at all levels of economic well being, rich and poorer. People of all ages, all religions and all educational backgrounds. All of us trying to figure out why. Are we older than the usual filers? Younger? Is it where I was born? Where I live? Anything in our background? We never did find a common reason for any of it.

I can totally understand your frustration, I've been there. It is very irritating to have the process put on hold while every man and his dog thinks they need to scrutinize your paperwork again. The lack of transparency in the Immigration has caused many a sleepless night for us all. They can't even deny the approved petition at NVC, only delay it. I was caught up in this at Christmas too, and it really annoyed me.

My best suggestion is to use the time you have to your own benefit. If you look at my timeline, you will notice I had packet three sent out and returned, and the medical, done well before my Consulate had the file. I was able to go ahead, based on having the case number. I had my overseas fingerprint records done, and the report back. Everything ready to go, so that when they did cut us loose, there would be no more delays. They were happy to make the interview appointment based on having the electronic file.

Get your ducks lined up. Email your consulate, ask if it's possible to go ahead with portions of the process, given that you have the case number. Our consulate sent a couple of inquiries through to NVC on our behalf, because at the time the Auckland Consulate didn't know any more about it than we did. It isn't that they got us answers, so much, as it did make them aware something was up at NVC, and they were happy to work with me.

It will pass, and I'd say if they've had your file since 15 November, it won't be long now. Be ready.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
