I called the NVC today and they told me my case was in AP. I asked specifically what that means and she said it entails several things that all cases must undergo.

I hope my case isn't stuck at NVC for too long.

Typical time in AP now is about 20 days or less. All cases do not go into AP. these are done at random. some cases get to NVC and leave 3-5 days after case number is assigned. Those cases are NOT in AP. I don't think the persons that answer the phones at NVC really knows whats going on behind the scenes. They read from a script that tells you "this can take up to 4 weeks or 35 days etc etc etc and they will notify you of what to do next yada yada yada. Sorry your in AP but should not be more than 3 weeks which for me seemed like forever. good luck. AP can mean extra security checks on USC. if you read part I it will explain which of the categories might have thrown you into AP. hopefully yours will be quick and painless.

I started to read Part 1 but stopped after page 14, lol. It is so so long. I have a clean record. I am a registered nurse and I work for the govt. so I have had lots of background checks done before. I really hope this goes quickly.

Hope they zip you right on through soon!

I found the right thread for me! So here's my situation I got my MANILA case number last July 24th and still stuck at NVC. Is this still normal?

All you can really do is wait, I'm sorry. But at three weeks, I would believe you are very close to being sent on your way. Times have been running about 3-4 weeks lately. Good luck, and let us know when you are on the move!

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Can anyone tell me how to get a Tier 2 when I call NVC ?? The reps kept giving me stupid excuses!

My Husband used to just ask. Repeatedly in fact. Whatever he was told, he would repeat "you are unable to answer my question I request to speak to a supervisor."

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I was finally able to get one but I got the same answer the other people told me " there is no timeframe" bla bla bla and the case is undergoing Additional administrative processing. Only God kept me from screaming at the phone. I'm just tired of that!

I know exactly how you feel. We were stuck there ourselves, for nearly 8 weeks. They don't seem to take as long as that now. I went ahead and got all of the other papers I would need, an overseas police clearance, I had the medical done as well while I waited. About the best advice I can give you is to use the time wisely. Get everything else you will need, and be ready. I hope you get sent on soon.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
