K-1s STUCK @ NVC for AP Part II

There is that. We were told more than once that we were not in AP, when we clearly were. I would give it another week, but after that if you get conflicting information, I would suggest you ask to escalate your call to a supervisor. The trouble is the people who answer the phones really can't see much. If they are famous for anything, they are famous for misinformation.

Sorry you were disappointed. Give it another try in a few days, which if I am right in going by your timeline makes 4 weeks.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I asked for supervisor last week and was told no one is available. They'll call me back. No one called back. I am calling again and would request it again. Obviously I am going crazy at this point. :-(

They can't tell you more, but they did clear up the are you in or out question. That is what they told up as well, there is no estimated time frame. That's the worst bit, not knowing for how long. It does end, and all you can really do about that is wait it out.

Which is why I suggested you try and focus on the parts that come after.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Thanks! I am following your advisearch and sending email to embassy and requesting if they can ask NVC to transfer our case and also if we can get necessary instructions to start getting everything ready. That's good for an email or should I add/delete anything?

They won't request your case. In ours, they were only going to send an inquiry, because back then not even the embassy knew what was going on. Id' think they would have all got the memo this many years on.

I was able to get packet three sent on the basis of having the ALK number (for Auckland) If you have the number already, you can email them to ask. Won't hurt anything, and they may be able to help.

Awesome! Can't thank you enough. We received email today from embassy that she can go there and pick up letter she needs to have the police certificate done. That's the only thing we would have had to wait for.

One more things my mind is bothering me for is that the other when I called nvc and spoke to a supervisor I asked him directly if our case was in AP because of name check/ background check and if there was anything to worry about. Does asking questions like this make us more suspicious and delay the AP further or no big deal?

Thanks again!

I would say it has no effect at all. AP lumbers on at its own pace, and there really isn't a way to influence it for the good or worse.

It's great she can get started on the police certificate, one less thing to slow you down when they send the petition on!

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Does longer AP always mean more serious things or its just random that some get resolved sooner than others?

Not that it matters, but our petition is right there with yours the NVC received ours on February 11, 2015 and a case number was assigned on February 23, 2015, using the formula of subtract 500 from the 3-digits that follow the year in your case number. I have called multiple times, and finally spoke with a woman who seemed a bit more encouraging that others. She stated that our petition was waiting to be sent to the embassy and should go out within the next two weeks. She further stated that it is common for petitions to remain at the NVC for 4 weeks.

Hope this helps.

I was just looking back at earlier post and noticed that one of your post indicated that the 3 digits after the year for your case is 547, well ours is 542. So we are right together in this situation. It is my hope and prayer that our petitions shall be sent to our embassies by the end of March or the first part of April. Chin up, God willing all will be well.

I don't think it's an indication. Here we were, two older people, no criminal records, not even a speeding ticket, husband is a veteran, neither of us are from a high fraud country. And still we managed, at the time, to hold the record for length of time in AP.

Most petitions are in and out the door in a few days. We drew the short straw. We kept on drawing it, lol. When we hit AOS, we were sent to CSC for 'faster processing", which actually took longer. For ROC, 11 months to get that.

Thanks. I was just wondering because we both, too, have clean records. I guess it's how it works.
