Just got in from Canada...

I went to visit my family (Niagara Falls, USA) and my sweetheart in Hamilton. Wow, I really enjoyed myself! Anyways, I love Tim Hortons! I had to get a Extra Large French vanilla cap.

Tim Hortons has trickled it's way to Can/Am border but I would love to drink Tim Horton down in Georgia!

Krispy Kreme's coffee is not as good as Tim Horton!

Lol... My honey loves the iced capp's... on a birthday card while he was in Korea he drew a picture of the timmy's logo for me from the cocoa container I had sent him... Timmy's is the best too bad Wendy's bought out the company. It did wonders for their profit... but now its no longer entirely Canadian.

The only way we can drink Timmy's here in Georgia is to buy it online or have a mother in law who will ship it to you occasionally (like mine does :D ). Maybe one day in the not so distant future the South will go where no man has gone before.....to our local Timmy's!

I still say Wawa is better(Philadelphia area) than Tim's. Now I may be biased because that's what I'm used to and what I like. However, my fiancee's parents and grandparent's liked the Wawa coffee I brought with me more than Tim's.

Well, I would love to have Timmie's here in Georgia too. Another VJer who used to live in my hometown so kindly sent me a can of Tim Horton's coffee last fall when she went home for a visit - it was WONDERFUL! Although, come to think of it, the US Tim Horton's (Michigan, anyway) was not nearly as good as the ones just the other side of the border. I sure hope that was just an abberation! Dunkin' Donut coffee - vanilla flavoured - is what I make do with here . . . not the same but not nearly as harsh as most US coffee. Even the coffee I make at home isn't as mellow as Timmie's unless, of course, it is Timmie's. I am hoping my Dad will take pity and send me some soon - I've asked him, but he keeps forgetting:-).

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

My better half and I were up at Potomac Mills area and they had a WAWA, so I had to stop in and try their "coffee." One walks in and it appears like any other gas stn that has a convenience store. Walk to the rear where they have about 15 flasks of coffee brewing!! So I choose the WAWA house blend, and really not expecting much!! The results were better than expected, BUT still not near as good as Timmies. One item that may have lead to WAWA subpar coffee (relating to Timmies) is that it had probably been sitting on the burner since Kim Cambell was Prime Minister of Canada (longer than 20 minutes ago for u young folk)!! The employees at Wawa did not have the love of coffee that Timmies employees show. But I must admit for gas station coffee it was good, but doesnt comapre to Tims, or even Dunkins!! June can't come fast enough!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

US Timmies is different because they use 14% cream in Canada and only half/half here...

I don't know why, but my fiancee never jumped on the whole "Tim Horton's is great" bandwagon. She thinks they're okay, but if she goes out for coffee, it'll generally be at a Second Cup or perhaps a Starbucks (usually the former though, if all possible).

Me, I've never had coffee from Tim Horton's, so...I don't know what it tastes like and how it might differ (if at all) from Starbucks. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, so maybe I wouldn't notice the nuances. ;)

When I was with the Cdn Airforce, Spent 3 weeks in Sigonella Italy. On the base they had a smal llittle hut that served the best latte's. We would arrive early for our flights, just to grab a coffee.
