They need at least last 3 years so if you have it, go ahead and send it to your beneficiary. Also you'll need Letter of Employment and at least 3 months of pay stubs

In addition to the the I134 the embassy needs two copies of employment letter, current year tax return and current year W2. The embassy does not need anymore than this. However, " Better to have and not need than to need and not have" . We went to the interview prepared with last 4 years tax transcripts, bank statements and last 6 months pay stubs. Now I get to lug all that ####### back to the states with me. The CO never asked for it. But I also get to escort my beautiful fiancée back to the states with a crisp near visa...

about I-134 affidavit of support i got 2 income tax return 2012 and 2011 and also w2 form will this be enough or wil lthey also need 2010 taxreturn?

1040 2012

W2 2012

I -134

Those are the only things asked from me when I had my interview last june 13, 2013. It also says on their instructions to bring the most recent 1040 and w2 so I dont see why you need 3 years. I brought with me his employment letter and online transfers from his employer (hospital) to his bank account and also papers pertaining to his stock and was never asked to give. I initially gave the I134 and the pre screener asked if my fiance has sent any 1040 and w2 with it so I gave him both.

This is correct. This 3 year thing is often confused with the Affidavit of Support for AOS (I-184) which asked for the most recent tax, 2nd most recent, 3rd most recent wherein the most recent tax copy is required to be attached , the 2nd & 3rd tax copy are optional to attach but income needs to be written on the form for these years. I hope this clarifies the confusion.smile.png

Yes we submitted the original and a copy.

Were you asked by the pre-screener or the consular officer to submit both the original and a photocopy, or did you simply submit them without being asked for both?

A good question... We were asked by the pre-screener to submit evidence of employment. Since I had the 2 copies (as per the I134 instructions) I gave up both copies. The pre-screener accepted a both copies but did not specifically ask for both.

I would like to correct something I said earlier in this thread. While it is absolutely required to produce an I134 ,now I believe evidence of employment is required at the discretion of the pre-screeners or consul.

The consul did not ask us to submit or show anything.
