I-864 & I-864A questions

Hi all, we're DCF filers in London. I'm trying to get the last of our paperwork together so we can finish this up and book hubby's medical.

I currently collect SSDI while living here in the UK. When we return, I will be returning to part time work. I will be able to keep my disability, as I will be making less than 1000.00 a month. SO...here are my questions.

1) Should I even bring proof of my offer of employment?My boss has offered to write a formal offer of employment with salary. Or just include my SSDI as my only income on the I-864?

2) We will be moving in with my parents to start with so they will be helping out financially till we move out and hubby gets a job. Since we will be co-mingling finances, should I have both parents fill out the I-864A (one for each of them?)

3) Do they only have to send a copy of their tax return as proof of their income?

I think those are the only questions I have at the moment....I'm sure I will come up with more!

Hmm, no answers huh? Well, I guess I will just go with the I864 for me and I864A for each of my parents with a copy of their tax return.

I suppose the only evidence that really matters is what is actually tangible right now (the tax returns). It does no harm to bring anything extra, like your job offer letter. The London interview, as I understand it, is fairly lenient in terms of the sponsorship financial requirements.

It should be I-864 for you, I-864 for your primary parent sponsor and the other parent should file an I-864A.

Either way you should include your employment if you're currently employed and working (do not include future employment, but you can include a letter from an employer saying you have a guaranteed job offer.) Know that anything that isn't USA based or will continue in the USA won't help your process, but should still be included.

They should send tax transcripts not tax returns. Tax transcripts are like 2 pages long. A return needs EVERYTHING including workbooks, W2, 1040 etc etc etc.. Everything they do for their taxes. A transcript is easily obtained same day in an IRS office.

No. If you do not need your income combined with theirs, then just have your dad do his own I-864 and your mom the I-864A. They only need enough combined income to meet the requirement for their own household size plus your spouse, so 3. Your parents need proof of their current income and not just their latest tax transcript, and proof of being a USC or LPR.

Also, I think you should include your income proof as well as the employment offer letter along with your I-864 and latest tax transcript.

Well the only other income I have is my SSDI and my proof from them is on its way. Hmmm, my folks are both retired, so I assume they get pay stubs from their pensions...I'll have them send those along as well I guess.

hi about the co sponsor for I-130 form., is it true that the person that will co-sponsor for you means that that would be your residency (home address) if ever their visa got approved.?

or any of your relative can sponsor for you and will be able to live in a different address rather than your co-sponsors address?

Hi, I went through the process yesterday. My joint sponsor lives in Miami, FL and that's registered as the address I'll be living in; they are sending the actual GC over there as well.

I think if you will stay in a different address - and can prove it at POE - you should be completely fine.
