My fiancé and I were notified that are case has been sent to the consulate in Nigeria and for us to wait to be notified once the embassy is ready to proceed with our case. Will they notify us of a interview date or are we to set up a date online? If anyone has any information on this process it will be appreciated. Thank you

Nigeria embassy will notify you when its time to start the processing. For the interview, you will chose a date by yourself online. Below is an example of email you will get from Nigeria embassy when you are about to start the processing:

Dear Mr/Mrs .................

The U.S. Consulate General in Lagos is ready to begin final processing of your approved K1 visa petition. Kindly request your fiancé/fiancée (the applicant) to visit any branch of Guaranty Trust Bank PLC in Nigeria to pay the K1 visa processing fee of $240.

With the payment receipt number, the applicant can visit our website athttp://www.ustraveldocs.com to schedule a K1 visa interview appointment under the Immigrant Visa (IV) category. The applicant must print the interview appointment confirmation, which should be presented upon arrival at the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos on the appointment/interview date.

Also, the attached interview instruction packet has to be printed and the immigration Form DS-156 fully completed by the applicant prior to the interview. Additionally, the applicant should visit any of the medical facilities indicated on page three of the attached medical examination instructions and complete the medical examination.

Please note that NO APPLICANT WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THE CONSULATE VISA HALL WITHOUT A VALID MEDICAL EXAMINATION REPORT AND A DULY COMPLETED FORM DS-156 NONIMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION FORM.

If you are having problems accessing or using the online appointment system (http://www.ustraveldocs.com), please contact: support-nigeria@ustraveldocs.com or +234-9-460-1748.
