just a quick question

is there any sense in getting my medical done before NVC has finished with my case, or should i play it safe and wait till after?

Do you have your LDN number? You'll need that to book the medical, anyway. You don't want to have your medical before the embassy has your file, else they may not manage to reconcile the results with your case later.

LDN number. i am assuming that would be the same as my case file number. if it is then yes i have. is it going to do any harm to get it done now rather than later, it's just i have some unused leave from work to use up and i can get an appointment on thursday and due to the school holidays i won't be able to take any leave (unless it's for my interveiw)after next week

No, LDN is not the same as case file number. It's a code that begins "LDN" with 10 digits after it. It is sent to you in in a letter and if your case is at the NVC may already be assigned to you (you can call and request it sometimes, rather than waiting for the embassy to receive it and mail it to you - that's why I asked if maybe you already had it).

I was actually wondering the same thing about scheduling the medical. The NVC has already reviewed our AOS, and we just sent back our checklist, so I'm assuming that our case will be completed soon at the NVC. I thought about trying to schedule the medical in London now, but I think we are just going to wait until our case is complete first to be safe, as I think that is how they want you to do it.
