During our AOS interview, the IO told my husband you have to remove conditions by such and such a date. He told us it was our responsibility to take care of ROC. When we got home that day, we wrote the date down and started collecting evidence right away. We actually did get a letter reminding us, but we were not expecting anything and with our without a letter, we knew what we had to do.

That is so true, the IO told us the same thing. She actually wrote the date for us, I thought that was very nice from her.

I also got a reminder in the mail, and I really wasn't expecting one because the IO told us they usually don't send reminders.

If we start nitpicking how the guides are worded, we would not find perfection. However, the guides are written in simple English for them to be comprehensible by most, if not all people. Have you heard of anyone getting their case denied due to the VJ guides?

This post exactly. My husband and I also had our AOS interview and the IO told us we'd have to remove conditions at some point but we should not expect to receive a reminder. Just like Hedi, after the interview I began gathering our lease agreements, boarding passes, insurance claims, and whatnot for about two years. We did not get any notice of reminder for the I-751 but I'd always kept in mind the 90-day period without relying on a digital calendar alarm. I knew I did not want to deal with the consequences of forgetting to file the I-751 or attempting to file it late.

The argument that changing the wording to "may or may not" will cause people not to track the date is obviously incorrect, because the reader is fully aware that there "may not" be a reminder letter. The consequences of not correcting the guide are that VJ loses a certain amount of credibility (due to flat-out lying), and threads like this one will continue to be generated unless and until VJ's error is corrected.

Amusing smile.png, really hope that you don't start new threads like this one will continue bragging about this non-sense request. So far I think you are the only one requesting for this "correction" smile.png

Why are you getting so upset over something that is COMPLETELY inconsequential to the process? You get it, yay, you don't, oh well. It doesn't matter, it doesn't affect your process at any point.

It is more important that the guides are correct about things that could affect your process. This is like complaining that it told you to use a white envelope but you can only find yellow ones. It DOESN'T MATTER!

**Edit - VJ "loses a bit of credibility" because of an inconsequential thing?? VJ advises you to read the instructions. So... while the guides help, you should do your own research as well. You won't find the letter mentioning in the instructions. If USCIS doesn't choose to mention it in their ROC instructions, why are you so concerned?

After reading all the responses, yes you may or may not get a letter, yes it is ultimately your responsibility. Not the government, our friends or VJ member and or guides. Each of us need to take ownership of our own actions especially in regards to immigration. Here is the USCIS 90 calculator http://www.uscis.gov/dateCalculator.html to assist on counting 90 days.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Obviously untrue, since VanessaTony said earlier that there have been other threads on this topic. That means multiple VJers other than myself have already requested that this false statement be corrected, and even more VJers will likely make the same request in the future - unless and until the truth prevails.
