I am trying to decide which POE to use.

Anyone whose fiancé, wife, or child has recently entered the U.S. having to register their new visa?

For now, I am considering using Atlanta or Chicago. Atlanta provides the most direct route for us. However, it seems I have read here in the past about Chicago being quicker at processing people through.

I've probably flown into the US a hundred times in the last few years. Honestly, it doesn't really make much difference which airport you fly into. The biggest thing is the time the flight gets in. Late afternoon is the busiest time at east coast US airports, since most flights from Europe arrive then. London Heathrow is horrible between 7 and 9 AM (same reason - flights from the US and Asia mostly arrive then). For a direct flight from Moscow, you don't have many choices though.

If you want to cut down on lines, try to book a flight that doesn't have any intl arrivals coming in 2 hours before it.

The POE info is in a place on VJ that tends to be overlooked.

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/

Look for POE, and Point of Entry reviews. You can filter by POE to find info quickly.

Also question gets asked often, search VJ for answers.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Price of airfare was the only real consideration for us and JFK work authorization can be the other.

Otherwise it is really all the same.

Direct to Atlanta from Moscow is a Delta flight. That would save you changing planes at JFK, a 5 hour wait and a 3 hour trip. If the temporary work permit is important, which they are going to discontinue soon, then JFK is neccessary.

My wife used Anchorage, Alaska as her POE. She took a direct flight from Frankfurt (Germany) to Anchorage on Condor Air. Flight got in about noon, it took her all of 10 minutes or so to clear customs on her K-1 visa. I highly recommend it.

Cheers!

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.
