"I would like to say that I would be shocked or surprised by the comments," Popovich said Thursday during his pregame press conference, per SI.com.

"But given the fact that there's still a significant element of bigotry and racism in our nation, I'm not surprised. It still plagues us, obviously. And what I was surprised by was how proud these idiots are of their ignorance, by printing their names next to their comments."

...

"He's a class act," Popovich said of the fifth-grader. "Way more mature than most his age. And as much as those comments by the idiots sadden you about your country, he makes you feel that the future could be very bright."

"My father was actually in the navy for a pretty long time, and I actually salute him today for that," De La Cruz himself responded to the backlash yesterday. "I just wanna thank him and to be able to sing the national anthem. People don't know, they just assume that I'm just Mexican. But I'm not from Mexico, I'm from San Antonio, born and raised. True San Antonio Spurs fan."

The DMV is so much better than it used to be. I have no idea what changed.

I had to go to the DMV a few weeks ago but I was smart and made an appointment beforehand. I was in and out of there in less then 10 minutes biggrin.png

there was a huge line of people waiting that went around the building too.. I just walked right past all of them and straight into the DMV

Oh, they must have hated you.

I could feel people staring at me as I walked in. When I got inside and got my number for my appointment I went to sit down. I sat for maybe a few minutes before my number was called and I could feel people glaring at me..lol Well, they should have been smart and made an appointment too :P

The Spurs announced about an hour ago that Sebastien will be back for an encore performance tonight biggrin.png

Racist Twitter fans are standing by.....

Great for Sebastien !!!

I feel bad for the Racist Twitter Fans - they were not able to afford a ticket into the venue to watch the game live.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Food for thought:

In China, there are a lot of minority races. Of course, I know only about the Inner Mongolians, specifically. An Inner Mongolian boy went on China's Got Talent and sang in his own language, and everyone loved him and he became a superstar.

If we had this situation in the U.S., maybe a Mexican kid singing in Spanish, I don't see him stealing everyone's heart... perhaps China is not as closed-minded as people think, and the U.S. is not the open-minded country we like to think it is.

What would Xenu do?

Yeah... but there were, apparently, racist comments, which is just so stupid. The kid is very talented.

What would Xenu do?

duraaraa, it sounds like you don't want to be here. This is an on going theme.

My point isn't that I don't want to be here... I have my reasons for being here.

My point is, despite many people in the U.S. thinking that it is the best country in the world and whatnot, America has a lot to learn from other countries. Perhaps I'm not very good at expressing my point?

What would Xenu do?
