CFO is asking for USC's proof of singleness? That's odd. They never asked for mine when Mike had his.

Yeah copies of your pay stubs or W-2 showing your claim status as Single, I guess...

As Stevephoto mentioned, 1040 is a good idea. As an alternative, you can send a pay stub from your work if it shows "single" as the tax filing status. That's what I sent my fiancee (now wife) because I wanted to send something that didn't have my SSN on it. The CFO office in Cebu accepted it. If you do use the 1040, I would redact the SSN.

Our Visa Journey:
I-129F packet mailed: 3/2/2012
NOA1: 3/7/2012
NOA2: 9/18/2012
NVC Issued Case #: 9/25/2012
Manila Interview: 10/24/2012 - Approved
US Entry: 11/15/2012
Marriage: 12/8/2012

AOS/EAD/AP packet mailed: 1/17/2013
NOA1 date for all three: 1/28/2013
Biometrics: 2/21/2013
Received EAD/AP card: 3/26/2013

AOS approved: 9/6/2013

Green Card received: 9/14/2013

ROC packet mailed: 6/13/2015

NOA1: 6/16/2015

Biometrics: 7/15/2015

ROC approved: 3/30/2016

10-year Green Card received: 4/6/2016

N-400 packet mailed: 11/17/2016

NOA1: 11/23/2017

Biometrics: 12/19/2016

Interview: 2/21/2017

Oath Ceremony: 4/12/2017

Sometimes the CFO has asks for the petitioner's proof of singleness. Showing the CFO the petitioner's federal income tax return where it says he filed as "single" has satisfied them in the past.

And for sure black out your SSN.

The packet Janet's put together for the embassy interview includes my 1040 and W2s. We would have used the same packet for the CFO interview. Are you suggesting blacking the SS# for the embassy interview or for a copy for CFO? In your experience are the CFO folks not to be trusted?

The cenomar for the Philippines perhaps there is something like that here in the USA ? Might try your local courthouse .

There is no equivalent here in the US. In order for a US citizen to marry in the Philippines you must appear before a consul at the US Embassy and swear out an Affidavit in Lieu of Certificate of Legal Capacity to Marry. While that has never been needed for a K-1, the CFO can request whatever documents they want in order to prove a relationship exists. As a few said earlier you can try using a tax return filed as single head of household but if the CFO really wants to make life difficult they may ask for the affidavit.

No I am not, I don't worry about the embassy knowing your SSN, heck they have it on other stuff.. btw.

I would just not let CFO have that information.

It is important to note that the CFO is not associated with the US Embassy. It is an office of the Philippine government chartered to provide information and required documentation to informed citizens in order for them to leave the country legally. As a large part of their mandate now centers around Executive Order 548-A (Campaign Against Human Trafficking) the CFO has been requiring a lot more documentation as proof that workers, spouses, and fiances are all well informed. That requires asking a lot of questions that typically were left to the various Embassies to confirm. Since multiple headline making cases still occur every year involving abuse and fraud the CFO is getting more aggressive with their background checks.
