I used to think that way as i didn't care because it didn't affect me. But these no seatbelt/helmet wearing folks always get hurt and of course lots of medical bills, more insurance claims, higher insurance premiums.

Then we need to fix the insurance model with legislation, NOT require adults to protect themselves if they are too stupid to otherwise figure it out themselves.

I absolutely support an adult's right to be stupid...at their OWN expense. If it is costing intelligent people money to care for stupid people, then THAT is what we need to fix.

I bet if google crashed. You could not find turkey on a map

I bet if google crashed. You could not find turkey on a map

I already responded to your first post that that's a bad bet. Making that exact same bad bet again three hours later really doesn't make it any better. This may come as a surprise to you because it is known that in RWNJ circles repeating falsehoods often enough makes them true. But that only works with your RWNJ crowds. Might be due to their lower than average intelligence. I don't know and really don't care enough about those folks to think about the reason why they are so easily manipulated into taking falsehoods for fact. Suffice it to say that normal people know that a falsehood is still a falsehood no matter how often it is repeated. Sorry, you fail. Okay, that's not entirely true. I'm not actually sorry that you fail but you fail all the same.

I never said you hated anything, nor did I say you were putting periods in the middle of your sentences. That was to someone else, clearly.

It's amusing to me that walking in Montreal is a "risk" to you, but walking anywhere in the Ukraine (less guns and more crime, according to you) isn't. That's all. Have a good day. smile.png

And all I am saying is your entire series of posts makes no sense at all. Even when limited to one-liners you mess up

Where did I say that walking in Ukraine is not a risk? Please link.

I simply do not accept "assigned" arguments. I never said any such thing and will not attempt to "defend" something I never said.

The statement was made that I "hated" my wife's country. That would be Ukraine. You and Mr. Big Dog jumped all over that. When I explained I did not hate Ukraine, Mr. Big Dog invented a calculation whereby I MUST hate Ukraine and you jumped all over that also. I never said any of those things.

For me, walking here is less risk than walking in Montreal, though in general it may not be. I have a gun here, in Ukraine. I have a home here also. I do not have a gun in Montreal because they do not let me bring one there. I do not have to "bring" or smuggle a gun here. It is here when I arrive. I bought it here.

So there are things I do which are more risky than walking in Montreal. YES!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!! And I even like them, I do not HATE them. Swimming in Lake Champlain is probably riskier than walking in Montreal, in terms of danger of injury, but hey I live on the lake so, yeah, I swim there and accept the risk of swimming in a beautiful, clear, clean lake surrounded by picturesque mountains. Sometimes naked. I know, hard to believe I don't hate it.

No one can indicate anywhere I have ever said I hate Ukraine, or Canada or the USA. But no one can argue the point so we go on and on for pages over inane BS just because Obama is infringing on MORE of our rights and cannot stop terrorist attacks by doing so.

Oh, and I may add that now that I have called YOU on this we can expect YOU to disappear.

I would also remind you and Mr. Big Dog that the figures for gun ownership quoted by wikipedia cannot possibly be correct for Ukraine and here is why. I will not argue that Ukraine has less guns than the USA or even Canada, but this is a country where you can get anything for money. Anything. Upon entering you can avoid customs altogether by paying $40 for the "VIP line". You are escorted right on through with NO CHECK of anything, not even passports, and the money is divided by the inspctors on duty. This is openly available at any POE, a policeman will sell you his pistol for $200 and report it "lost". The policeman makes $170 per month salary. What does a US policeman make? $5000 per month? You think I could find a policeman in the US that would sell me a Glock for $5000? Cash. I think yes. The Makarov cost more than $200 in the USA but I can offer a Ukrainian policeman a month's salary and walk away with his pistol in my pocket. He will sell me the uniform for $100 and all I really wanted was the cool hat! They will give him a new one. You can avoid any requirement, regulation, law, permits, licenses or anything else with a bribe of various amounts. Guns are easily available. For US $$$ They are not registered or reported to wikipedia.

There is a large military ammunition factory/arsenal in Odessa, Ukraine. At the end of the Soviet Union more than 40,000 AK-47s/AKMs/AK-74s went missing from that ONE arsenal. The same happened in Kiev, Kharkov, Cherkassy. Poltava, Sevastopol...and that is just Ukraine Thousands of police firearms are "lost" every year. NONE of those are counted in Wiki's numbers

Given that fact, the reported incidence of gun ownership in Ukraine cannot be correct.

I will ask again. If people cannot debate the subject and need to resort to a personal attack, PLEASE do not say I hate Ukraine. I enjoy it here very much. Maybe if you ever get some time off work and think you could trust your husband around hundreds of thousands of smoking hot women, you should visit Ukraine.

I think Florida requires you to have a certain amount of insurance to ride without a helmet. As long as it does not impact my rights go for it

It's not just uninsured. It's medical payments given as a result of being insured. You get affected when enough people with head injuries get paid out enough to cause insurance rates to increase for everyone under. Less medical expenses means you and I pay lower premiums.

well let them sign a rider that if they get injured doing something stupid then insurance does not pay and let them die. Serious. I support Darwin. when we protect the stupid from being stupid we muddy up the gene pool.

Way back when, if you were stupid and did not work you did not survive long and the best and brightest reproduced the most. Now we have it backward. The dumbest and laziest reproduce the most, because we protect them,. we are going to d-evolve.

In two weeks I am flying to Ankara from Donetsk, via a stop in Odessa.

Via Odessa, yes? That's interesting seeing that there really isn't a flight leaving Odessa for Ankara. Coincidentally, there aren't any flights arriving in Ankara that originate from Odessa either. Suppose you have a private plane that you take that route with? I mean that is how welfare bums travel, right? Only the best. Who needs regularly scheduled air travel? Or do they start a new Odessa - Ankara route just for your and Alla in two weeks? Man, you are so full of yourself it's hilarious.

And Penny, please...it is "Ukraine" NOT "the Ukraine" Saying "the Ukraine" is considered very much a perjorative as if the country is subservient to another. The name of the country is "Ukraine" and has been for 22 years since it was officially changed. Prior to that is was "The Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic", it was NEVER "the Ukraine" saying such is simply very ignorant and demeaning. I can only imagine what ire I would raise by referring to "Rhodesia" or "Ceylon"

It is far more offensive than periods in the middle of sentences so I am sure you will understand and accept my mentioning it to you.

There is no doubt that you go through life unaware of such things, probably too busy working to learn things, but now that you have been informed please do not insult the country of Ukraine again. And I won't call it "the Canada"

Now it is almost 7pm and the concert is at 8. Have to go.

Just for the record, if you are using an Iphone and hit space twice by mistake, it add a period and capitalizes the next word.
