Expediting Advance Parole?

So my fiancé's brother, who has been engaged for five years, has finally set a wedding date. A lovely, intimate destination wedding in Banff, Canada. About three weeks to a month after my fiancé and I plan to marry.

My future brother-in-law wants my fiancé to stand as best man, but he'll be in the U.S. by then, and as near as I can tell, won't yet be free to travel to Canada (assuming he wants to return to the U.S., pace Yodrak.) Assume, for the sake of argument, that none of the wedding dates are flexible.

So, looking here I see that the average time to AP is roughly 80 days. Got a couple questions:

1) Is that average consonant with people's experiences? (e.g., the 'average' for VSC is still hovering around 70 days, but isn't the current processing time at all, nor what one should expect.)

2) Is it possible to expedite obtaining AP for a situation like this? (i.e., not an emergent situation, but a known one due to a brother not checking the calendar.)

Expecting a 'yes' to 1) and a 'no' to 2), but I told my fiancé we'd at least try.

Oh boy future brother-in-law's should be slapped for not checking dates with you..... ok lets see

1) Even if you were able to file for AOS the day after your wedding, unlikely as you need to have your certified marriage certificate... you are looking to travel about 20 -28 days later.. Most people have a wait of about 70 - 90+ days to get AP from the date of their NOA... so it very very unlikely you would have AP in time for the wedding...

2) Yes there is a procedure to get an Emergancey AP at your local office... you would need evidence of the emergancy ie. fax from a hospital or funeral home showing you have a life or death situation... I doubt that you would be granted an emergancy AP to attend a wedding....

Sorry I cant give you a more possitive answer and I hope you manage to work something out...

Good Luck

Thanks. It's a shame he didn't think to ask us; two months in either direction would have sufficed to ensure we could attend!
