Some silly questions about the I-129F

Hi everyone!

I just have a couple of questions about the I-129F application form. I know some of these are silly, but I just don't want to make a mistake and have the whole thing sent back to me!

Firstly, what is a 'certificate of citizenship'? My citizenship was acquired through birth in the US, so I shouldn't need a certificate, right? (dumb questions, remember!)

Second, my fiance and I have met several times over the course of two years. The form says to "describe the circumstances under which you met." I plan on sending original copies of plane tickets as evidence, but should I start from the beginning and how we FIRST met? Or should I just start with the most recent time?

I honestly don't know what I would do without this site. Thanks in advance for bearing with me!

I'D LIST DETAILS ABOUT THE FIRST AND MOST RECENT. ALSO WOULD LIST THE OTHER DATES YOU WERE TOGETHER.

To answer your first question Just Check Birth in US, the box below is only for naturialization certificate number, you don't have one so leave it blank.

The other question for 18

Two things

You dont need to go into a lot of detail, Just put how you met, traveled, and proposed.

If you cannot fit it in the box provided, then put "See attached sheet" And on a seperate sheet Start it out with "I-129F Question 18"

Answer question, again only a few paragraphs are needed.

See the example form: http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-129F.pdf

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Hiya, MMH! Love the screenname.

Onto your Q's.

You're the USC, right? If you were born in the U.S., and are a U.S. citizen from birth, then you don't have a certificate of citizenship. The layout on the form is confusing.

For Q18, the guides here are good. In the space provided, I wrote: See attached. For mine, I wrote two or three sentences that described how we met (online) and then how we met in person, and then listed the dates we met in chronological order. I noted, where appropriate, the evidence I had under each of the dates, so it sort of looked like this:

March 200x: Fiancé visits me in Hometown.

[Passport stamp, boarding pass, photo #1]

July 200x: I visit Fiancé in his Hometown.

[More evidence].

.... (ad nauseam)

Signed and dated the attachment. And then I just organized the actual evidence chronologically after that.

Tip:

Use Q18 to describe in some detail of how you met in the required 2 year period that established the relationship. The evidence you then submit should support those details. Boarding passes, passport stamps, hotel/credit card receipts, rental receipts if ever lived together etc etc are primary evidence. Photos are secondary which support the primary evidence. What one should be aiming for is creating an image in the minds eye of the adjudicator......a complete picture. Look outside the box for evidence that shows you both in the same place at the same time. Each case is different and one should submit evidence accordingly, not just rely on the standard unofficial list.

Whilst evidence of an ongoing relationship is not a requirement at the initial filing stage, it can be beneficial to those from high fraud countries (eg the philipines) to do so, or if there is anything that could be a red flag that may cause issues at interview stage. This evidence should always be very carefully scrutinised especially emails & chat, to make sure there is nothing mentioned that may be construed in a different way then it is meant. Also make sure that any photo evidence submitted of any ceremony cannot be mistaken for a marriage ceremony which has in the past caused issues and denials.
