My fiancé already had his medical, results are at US embassy in London, but we didn't send all the paperwork in and sending everything now. Has anyone messed up with the paperwork at this stage? and if so, has it caused an additional delay in getting interview appointment scheduled? Embassy has told us there is currently a 6 week delay.

6 weeks delay, or it just takes 6 weeks? Sometimes it does take 6 weeks before you'll have an interview date, although you'll likely be notified about it about a month prior.

When was the medical?

As per http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

Please note: The visa interview will not be scheduled until the Immigrant Visa Unit is in receipt of the results of the medical examination. The failure to schedule the medical examination will result in delays to your application.

But also note on the same url:

When you have obtained all of the required documents and are prepared for the visa interview, you are required to complete the Notification of Applicant(s) Readiness, Form 2001 and mail it to the Immigrant Visa Unit together with a covering letter containing your email address, if applicable, date of your wedding and date of the medical examination.

The readiness form 2001 allows them to know you're ready to interview. Not sending this back may be the cause of your particular delay.

I'd like for you to read this post summarizing what it takes to get a K1 interview in London. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/?p=5137390

No forms, then no interview. Right now, you are the delay, not the embassy.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I had my medical on May 29 and sent in my DS forms the same day - the embassy received the medical forms on the following Monday and didnt process my DS forms until this Monday (a week later).

When I called to find out my status update they originally said it normally takes 6 weeks from the date they receive all your forms until an interview is scheduled, and then the interview will be in 3 weeks from that. I don't think it's a temporary dealy.

But then they also told me originally that a.) they couldnt see whether me DS forms are complete and in order until they have been fully processed (takes 6 weeks) - then I looked on the CAES case check website and my status said updated on the June of 11th, so I called again and all of a sudden the embassy was able to tell me that my DS forms have been logged and are complete.

Also, b.) when I first sent in my I-130 ages ago they told me it would take 3 months to process and it turned out it was only 4 weeks. So I will keep calling every week until I get an interview date because there is a chance it will happen faster than their "average timeframes".

Oh Im doing DCF so your timeframes might be different!
