Hi, I'm new here and I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I really couldn't find it in the FAQ's or previous posts. I'm Tammy btw. I'm trying to file a K1 for my fiance in Australia, and for the fill out your own name part, the middle name only has room for one. I have 2 middle names, the only places I've ever used them though is on my passport and on my birth certificate. I found something similiar with the person with the 2 last names using just the dad's last name and documenting the shortened usage in the cover letter. I don't know if I should just squeeze my entire name in there or what. 1 first, 2 middles, 1 last. I feel ridiculous asking this, but scary as the paperwork is, I think it might be really important to at least get MY name right :) Please anyone know what should be done here?

Thanks

Tammy

My opinion- I would go by whats on your passport, and put in cover letter also, just to cover all bases. i have had to have paperwork redone before because i didnt add my middle name. i never use it, though it is on my passport, so my advice would be to add what is on your passport. Good luck :)

I squeezed in my two middle names. Best get them all in and in the right order!

I have this issue all the time, for some reason my mum thought it would be a great idea to give me 3 names, all of them ridiculously long! My last name used to be long too, good thing I married a guy with a short last name ;-)

Simply write your legal full name.

In the Philippines, the concept or the term "middle name" is not exactly very popular although many children have two to three given names. These second or third names are called middle names in the US but in the PH, they are still known as first names. I also have "three first names" and I've always written them in the box or on the blank labeled "first name" in all my application forms and documents. Luckily, all of my immigration papers have indicated my full name correctly, from the K-1 visa, to the conditional green card, 10-year green card, and notices from USCIS during my naturalization application.

Good luck!

Note: In the PH, we refer to our mother's maiden name as our "middle name." So we have one, two, or three first names, then our middle name (mother's maiden name), and our last name. That's how we roll. tongue.png

Not a big issue. Just make sure you put the full name as it is shown on your passport. If the 2 middle names don't fit, then just attach an extra sheet for the I-129F form (like they instruct you to do in the K-1 visa instructions packet) and then right your full name. As long as you specify that you have attached an extra sheet with the full information, it should be fine. Don't forget to sign and date the extra sheet :)

When you do your AOS application, put the name you want to go by on the application and list your AKA's. For example my wife used her first name, her last as a middle and my last. We then had come continuity between her passport and other ID. When your GC is approved and received use it to change your Social, DL, banking etc. instant name change and legal.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Put them both if that is your full legal name matching birth certificate and passport. My husband has 2 last names(common for Latin cultures) and we simply put both on all the forms for the family/surname. Sometimes we put 2 spaces between the names to be sure they knew it was 2 separate names with no hyphen.
