I read the entire thread.

What about my post implied that I didn't?

So many people blame DACA for this process being stupidly slow, when in reality, it was like this before DACA existed.

And your point is DACA did not add any further delay?

Most systems are broken, this one is not an exception,it's not perfect, but it is what it is,and you have every right to complain about it,thats what makes democratic countries so great, you have waited 4 months or so,that's nothing, chill, relax it will come...I'm just venting about people that think they deserve some special treatment after a few months of waiting...

You're right, most systems are broken. This one is a glaring example of that, sadly!! And you're right, 4 and a half months isn't that long compared to how long many have been waiting. But while I'm just sitting here waiting, why not contact the people who are most likely to get changes made? Just one person alone won't accomplish anything but if people took an active interest in writing, calling, emailing, etc. their representatives they'd eventually have to take a look at it. I'm waiting either way, may as well try to bring some light to the issue. Several of my friends work for the Dept of Justice, Dept of State and I know what a mess it is, but they DO make changes if enough people complain. Squeaky wheels get the oil and whatnot. :)

I don't understand why people constantly complain about immigration. Have you ever been to other countries? Almost ALL of them are like this! Expecting your application to be processed quickly is just a pipe dream.

I consider myself LUCKY I got my GC done in 85 days. I was expecting the worst, hoping for the best.

Did I say that?

not exactly, you said something like problems were at the uscis before daca which is true

the problem is the overwhelming amount of petitions that came in all at once

has uscis ever shuffled petitions around to this extent? what was it one member went from csc-vsc-then tsc and is still waiting.. 130's at local offices and they have never had to deal with those before and so on

so yes uscis had prior issues, now those issues are buried under the daca petitions

I do think the good news is that they are slowly working it out and soon will have a better process in place or at least the vj members will all be experts in how the process works :)

For the record Harsh, I'm the lady in this couple. smile.png But you're right, I am within processing times. My problem didn't come from her saying there wasn't anything they could do, I fully anticipated that. The issue was with how poorly she handled the situation, and brushed the issue aside. For me to ask why there is such a delay and her to tell me she wasn't going to find out was unacceptable.

That's what seems to be happening. It's a huge slap in the face to people still waiting from October/November to see a flurry of Jan/Feb filers being approved.

For all we know, she gets 10 calls begging her to prevent all immigration to every call like yours. Or you were the last in a long line of callers asking for some type of special consideration or favor. Or she simply could have been having a bad day. Or, maybe she figured out that you despise her boss. Who knows why people act the way they do at any given moment.

If I was her, I wouldn't have felt any need to do what you were asking either, as it wasn't specific to you, but more of a general "why is this happening like this" question. Of course, I'd never work in politics, so...

Best to not take it personally, nor let it dissuade you from your goals.

Rep Walter Jones' (NC-3rd) folks were just as unhelpful. Took them forever to respond as well.

Considering Ted Cruz wants to abolish the IRS...I dunno. Your other senator isn't exactly rushing to work on immigration either.

Perhaps you have a congressman who can help?

Our senator, Mark Pryor, was extremely helpful and our visa was approved 2 days after a call from his office. He wrote me a letter letting me know that our visa was approved. I got that letter the day after the approval. I'm not sure if he can help anyone outside of Arkansas, but maybe there are some people here he can help.
