I contacted the Embassy here in Ghana for a pick up date and was emailed back that they I should allow time and that they will mail me the Packets 3 & 4. I'm confused cos my approved petition expires early August and as at now no packet from embassy to start my Medicals and no date for interview.

So you were approved from USCIS? Have you completed the NVC process yet? Once we got our approval and interview date, we took that to the embassy to get the package. However I search online a found the forms.

Before you get an interview date you have to process throught the National Visa Center. Once you get an interview date then you get a letter about picking up package 3 & 4 for medicals and police clearance. Have you received a letter that gives you an ACC number? Where is your process now?

I got a letter from NVC indicating My case number. NVC says the case has been forwarded to the Consulate here in Ghana. I emailed them and they said it has been loaded into their system so they will mail me the packets. I just don't understand the process

Going thru the same process. Called NVC about 2 weeks ago and got ACC number and the Embassy keeps giving me this reply:

We wish to inform you that neither the case number nor the name of the applicant shows up in U.S. Embassy Accra system. Please note that U.S. Embassy Accra has no control over an applicant’s case unless it is loaded into our system. Once the case is loaded into our system and we receive the case file, the applicant will be mailed a letter about the next process of the Immigrant Visa application.

So frustrated!!!

I have personally been through that and it was not fun, the embassy says they have mailed the packet according to department of state but don't believe that because you will be left in the dark waiting and waiting and waiting. You have to email the consulate portion that handles the immigration part with your name, dob, your fiance/e name, dob, email address for both and include the case number in the subject and request a pickup date. Be specific in how long you have been waiting. Normally it will be a Wednesday. They will reply to you with a letter that looks like this:

Thank you for your e-mail inquiry.

Our records indicate that a call-in letter was mailed out on May 2, 2013. If the applicant has not received the letter, they may come to the U.S. Embassy Accra on any business Wednesday morning at 7:30 am to pick up the appointment package. The package will have the instructions necessary to proceed further with the case. Please be aware that the applicant will drop off this letter in the morning and then return at 2:00 p.m. to receive the package and interview date.

The applicant should also bring a copy of this email to be admitted to the Consular Section.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

Sincerely,

U.S. Embassy Accra
