If I was on this forum, I would have known prima facie is to apply for benefits. My lawyer receive these and didn't tell me anything about them. She didn't even tell me she got them from immigration. She just let them sit on my file. When I finally find out what they were, I took them to my school to apply for financial aid but it was already to late cuz they were expired and vawa was already approved. I was so mad. I was in a tough situation back then, I could have applied for help and gone to school if only my attorney would have let me know. Smh

I had to call her and ask for these papers. She gave them to me and they were all expired.

I'm glad I'm now on this forum:)

When i read of the wickedness of some attorneys I get sooooooooo upset. I thank God that your Vawa was approved.. God indeed is always faithful and on time ,Amen!!!! And what is meant for evil turns into good. At the end of the day you got it now you can go to school and do whatever you need to do.

Yeah I'm very happy my caws was approved. However, I can't go to school because I don't have enough money. Financial aid office won't help me because once your vawa is approved, you can't renew your prima facie any longer, at least that's what ny attorney told me. Since my daughter was born here while I was with my abusive ex, I was only able to apply for Medicaid for her and that's that. At least, I could work and pick up extra shifts and make means end for my daughter and I. Thx anajnic, I feel like I can't even trust her anymore. I am now calling her every week because I'm afraid I might miss my immigration interview. I don't want them to send her a notice and for her to not even bother telling me.

I signed up for case updates but they don't usually update all the info. Like the prima facie info? I don't think they update those.. When my casewas transferred to my local office, they updates it on my portfolio. Some but not all

My case was transferred on May 14th. Hopefully I hear something from them soon. Last time I called my attorney, she said that immigration is experiencing a delay on all the cases that were transferred. So I might end up waiting forever again to hear from them. Such a long journey.

I hope you hear from them soon anajnic. Good luck:) I hope we all got our green cards. We've all been trough way too much

Every living person on this forum with an approved VAWA is getting their Greencards In the name Of Jesus.. Trusts me. That is felt in my spirit a while ago.Its only patience right now but rejoice because it is well and good. Now breathe , relax and live. It is done

Good for you faithkeeper! At least, you have one that's not expired and it's not too late to apply for benefits. I'm happy for you.

In my case I ended up passing on scholarships, grant money for school, public housing etc I mean a kitbag things that could have helped a single woman that is trying to do everything on her own. Anyway, when I knew about it and called her, my first reaction was to be really mean to her but I remember how she was comforting me when I came to her with my case so I dropped it. Plus, they are the catholic charity people that are helping with mycase. I didn't have to pay them too much. So im grateful that I didn't have to pay 1000 of $

Hey cielo, I believe you need to have the prima facie with valid dates on it. Once the i360 is approved, then you can't renew the pf anymore. I might be wrong but sandra should tell you:) she's awesome!
