Panama Guy you should file for divorce this week with base in mental abuse because it will increase your chances to file for custody of your child. The family court will not take in consideration your Vawa to grant custody of your child but the court will consider the divorce decree when ruling about child custody.

My mother-in-law got divorced twice, although she played family affair first, court still gave her my two sister-in-laws' custody, I am not saying kids will be happier with their mom, but court prefer to let kids stay with mom based on human nature, men will pay their child support until their kids go to college, at this point, we are the same as men.

I also have one Mexican friend in Austin Texas, he has been fought for his son and daughter's custody for a long time, he told me he finally get it until his son and daughter go to middle school after court found his wife is drug addicted. I have to say kids are not happy to see their parents fight like dogs and cats, Peace Bro.

Hello everyone! Hope everyone had a nice weekend. ']

So i just left the social security office to get a NON WORK SOCIAL SECURITY CARD. (for FAFSA)
I was told with my prima facie and a letter from the government agency stating why I need a social number i could get one.

So i did, i got a letter from the department of education and my prima facie and applied for one.

At the end the SS office gave me a letter saying they needed to verify the documents and it could take up to 4 weeks. And if its all correct my non work SS card will be mailed out

Anyone else had a similar experience?

DOES IT really take 4 weeks?

Was just thinking this morning that despite proving bonafide marriage with Vawa and getting the i360 approve, you still have to prove bonafide marriage for AOS. A more intricate investigation goes into your i485 app.

How amazing I wish I had done this too. For what I have read you are in the right path and I think it could be sooner than 4 weeks because they always give that time frame and takes less... Good luck and keep us posted!!!

donehere is your vawa approved? if yes then they will set up your interview. It may take 2/6 months. It depends of each local office .

Did you submit form I-864W ,G325A and I-693?

Thank you so much Sandra for your reply. Yes I got my VAWA approved and applied all the forms along with I-864W, G325A and I-693.

N you know what my attorney missed I-864W but since I was following this thread, I suggested her to add that and later she said yes its needed. Credit goes to you Sandra for making us well-informed. Love you. idea9dv.gif
