samubbz the fact he cheated on you it does not make your case weak at all. I handled so many cases the guys cheated on their spouses and Uscis never questioned about that, but not having enough proof to prove bonafide marriage yes, it can be a huge problem.We have here at least 6 girls since July received RFE asking to prove bonafide marriage and all of them have children with the abusers, then as you can see having a child is not enough, but they did not have many documents showing commingling finances and commune residence either, but I was able to explain to vawa Unit why not and all of them were approved.If you get any RFE make sure your lawyer explain very well why you did not have commingling finances such as joint bank account, tax return filed jointly, lease agreement, health insurance in name of both etc...

We filed joint tax returns and there was a gym membership that we were members in, along with some utility bills that were under both our names, but thats really about it that I can think of off the top of my head. I haven't received an RFE since October though and the case was sent in last year on August 18.

I saw people being having AOS denied because they reconciled with their abusers,not one,not two, not three times but several times. In 2007 and 2011 two girls asked my help because their petitions for naturalization were denied because they reconciled with their abusers before becoming US.citizen.I could not help them , first because there is anything in the Immigration Law forcing USCIS to approve the naturalization process once they reconciled with the abusers, and second I will never help someone willing to fool the system filing Vawa and reconciling with the perpetrator.

People who reconciles with their abusers need therapy for life,because suffering abuse is not the victim's fault ever, but going back to the abuser shows low self esteem and total disregard to their own lives.When you can't keep self respect you can't respect anyone. As I said many times abusers are the scum of our society!

In memory of all deceased women victims of domestic violence such as Lacy Petterson (murdered in 2002), Kathleen Savio’s (murdered in 2004),Amanda Rinaldi (murdered in 2012) Reeba Steenkamp (murdered in 2013)Jennifer Martel (murdered three days ago),Jennifer Alfonso (murdered 11 days ago) Patricia Waschbisch( domestic violence advocate murdered in April 2013) and all other 1,324 women murdered in 2012 in the U.S we should say NO to violence, and we say NO when we remove ourselves from the abuser's presence.

I wonder how much longer I have to wait, if i'm approved for my VAWA I will be overjoyed i'll even eat out to celebrate! One thing is for certain the day I get my green card i'm visiting my ex in prison in my best clothes just to show him my green card, just so he can see that I don't need him and that I am better off without him now.

Sigh I hope I get approved, otherwise I just threw years of my life away.

AND TO THE WOMAN WHO WAS ABUSE IF YOU WERE ABUSE THE WAY YOU SAY YOU WERE THEN YYYYYYYYYY WOULD YOU EVEN TALK TO YOUR ABUSER I WAS IN COURT YESTERDAY WITH MY NOW EX HUSBAND AFTER I GOT AWAY FROM HIM HE STILL FORCE ME IN HIS CAR AND ALMOST BROKE MY NECK I WILL NOT REST TILL I FACE HIM IN COURT TO SEE THE FEAR IN HIS EYES JUST LIKE HOW HE HAD ME IN FEAR UNTIL THIS DAY . samusbbz probably your case will be adjudicate any moment, considering they are adjudicating vawa cases filed 7/9months ago.

Do not waste your precious time showing your GC, he showed total disregard for your life.The best revenge is too be happy, find a man who will love you, respect and cherish your presence, a real man, not a coward capable to batter a woman.

sandranj please respond I just check processing time for my local office and they are at January 11th 2013 and my case was transferred December 26th 2012 it was approved on December and I got emailed that it was transferred the same day what do you think heeeellllpppp anyone with answers

I was involved in two abusive relationships the first was verbal/physical and emotional abuse with my husband anajnic im sorry your friend didnt make it out I had to flee from mines his own mom told me to stay an die leave an live!

Ladies lets love with our heads an not our hearts abusers of all forms seek to break our self esteem and make us feel like we are not of worth to live a fruitful life. As we break free never look back its tempting yes but think of all the pain an suffering you've endured under their hand and make that your recipe for excelling for yourself and your children.

Finally not Charles, looks like he's from admin or mediator. Somebody posted really rude, senseless words calling some of us who gave our opinion, ignorant. This person didn't understood our point. And indeed the post didn't bring anything helpful to this thread... Let's keep it nice
