So I have a huge problem, I just received a letter from my lawyer saying my interview date and time an that this end out contract or however you call it. Anyways the letter says I need to bring my still husband!!!?? And the letter that states the info says that for the petition I-485 the spouse has to come with. It also says I have to bring all my immigration docs, ID's, proof that our marriage was legit. Etc. I need help did everyone's letter say that you have to bring the spouse? And what kind of documents am I suppose to bring? My lawyer practically has all my immigration papers I only have some copies. If anyone could help me I would appreciate it. ?

my lawyer says she will not come with me and that she wishes me luck?? I'm sorry but I'm sooo pissed and frustrated that they can just send a letter and not give me any other info. Oh what to expect when I go to this interview.

Are you a Vawa applicant?? Im confused... because if you are a VAWA applicant thats impossible where your Greencard interview is as a result of an approved i360...

Hun read it again ask your lawyer if that's the norm and what applies to you it may very well be a standard letter, I doubt you need to bring him. Someone who recently when to interview can you please address it. Btw how long after your vawa approval did you get your interview? Congrats and gather everything asap

08/2012 Started gathering evidence

11/2012 Paid my deposit (forgot to sign documents)

01/2013 Signed documents

02/19/2013 Vsc received my application

02/22/2013 NOA mailed out

My lawyer has a prima facie never collected it Caz I don't need any benefit at this time.

03/05/2013 EAD mailed out (actual ead date, it will expire 03/04/2014)

03/08/2013 Lawyer received biometrics for 3/17/2013 (day after my edd, [expected due date] did early walking 3/12/13)

03/29/2013 Card in hand (lawyer received it abt a week earlier but I delivered so was unable to collect it)

Waiting for my i360 approval but I'm in no rush (good things come to those who wait)

8/14/13 i360 approved. :)

10/8/2013 aos interview. .. approved :)

10/9/2013 status adjust to lpr and welcome package mailed out.

8/15/2013 I484 transfered to local office. :)

girl, Vawa is domestic violence..theres no way in hell her spouse has to come with her.. it does not make any sense whatsoever

My passport been expired since 2011. Do I need a valid passport for the interview? I expect such a quick approval so I didn't do nothing still owe my lawyer a arm and a leg.

Yeah that's true! But your lawyer is a #######! I can't believe he left you hanging like this. Anajnic how's your aos going any recent touch?

so my vawa got approved in feb. and my interview date is in September. The letter that my lawyer wrote says enclosed is a copy of the I-485 appointment notice. The appointment is scheduled for September . Please plan on you and your spouse attending this appointment. I will not be in attendance with you. This ends my representation of you. The letter from uscis says "if application is based on marriage your spouse must be present at the time of the interview. Then it says I need to bring photo ID all immigration documents all supporting documents for affidavit of support, proof of bona fide marriage and employment verification.

Exactly.. "IF AOS IS AS A RESULT OF MARRIAGE" husband needs to be there but yours is not its VAWA... Just gather your docs from the attorneys office.. You will be fine.. All the docs you submittd to Vawa for your approval take all those.. Especially proof of bonafide marriage. Listen, you dont need her anymore to tell you the truth. you will be just fine..

There is 2 lawyers that have dealt with my case one of them is the one I always talk to and see during my appointments. The other one which is the bigger boss I hardly ever see. And honestly I don't even think she knows what petition I applied for. The letter comes from the big boss not the one I always see. Idk I'm so confused!!!!!

Call them tomorrow, dont panic. If your AOS is as a result of approved i360 then he is not suppose to be there.. thats impossible. I hope they have not made a mistake. Why would he be aloowed to be there.. that would be crazy and it does not make sense

Do you have your I360 approval notice? If you do then dont worry hon they cant expect you to bring your spouse.

You need to keep in mind if you leave the U.S. without an advance parole your AOS will be not valid anymore, because they will consider you abandoned your case, if you have to travel go but with advance parole ok.
