citragirl you case was approved right? then you are not using prima facie to get public benefits anymore and in this case you should be careful accepting cash assistance because USCIS may find you a "public charge" for the Government and not to approve your green card .it's different from those getting cash assistance with prima facie. Read here what USCIS say about that:

"The agency guidance specifies that cash assistance for income maintenance includes Supplemental Security Income (SSI), cash assistance from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program and State or local cash assistance programs for income maintenance, often called “General Assistance” programs. Acceptance of these forms of public cash assistance could make a non-citizen inadmissible as a public charge, if all other criteria are met. However, the mere receipt of these benefits does not automatically make an individual inadmissible, ineligible to adjust status to lawful permanent resident, or deportable on public charge grounds. See “Field Guidance on Deportability and Inadmissibility on Public Charge Grounds,” 64 FR 28689 (May 26, 1999). Each determination is made on a case-by-case basis in the context of the totality of the circumstances:.

icyluv the I-134 is considered void because you did not adjust status through your husband, you SELF PETITIONED your case, and had the affidavit of support waived by USCIS when you signed form I-864W.

The I-134 was valid considering the K1visa, but your K1 is not longer valid, since you adjusted status through self petitioning Vawa .

Thank you Sandra I am fine then, actually I never applied for anything with prima facie and according to that document I shall be ok. I receive treatment for cervical bad cells that was back in December 2012 but thru a county health clinic and I didn't receive any cash out of it, never applied for tanf and I don't receive ssi only wic for my toddler and food stamps for him only. Thank You Sandra :)

My case was physical abuse. We were married for only one month when the abuse started. My affidavit was 2 pages, and to the point. I explained how we dw ll in love our court ship how much I loved him, meeting his family and my unexpected pregnancy and the abuse. I explained my hopes for my family future and I reminisce on good times. I explained it was not always volatile and what I wish would happen. Pics of my marriage ceremony and dinner and pics of my abuse. Police report and final restran order. One affidavit from my best friend and withness at my wedding. Our joint lease and my good moral clearance from the state. I'm happy and feeling bless. Nothing was special about my case. No rfe or anything. Haven't been to Jamaica in 5 years. Wasn't even thinking about going home this year but now it seems possible.
